Awhile back I saw someone post a picture of their mini fridge being used as beer storage. They had removed the top microscopic freezer portion to allow to rows of vertical standing bottles. I have the same fridge, and now I can't find that damn picture anywhere! If this is you, or you know what I am talking about... please help! I can remove everything, but I need to know which wires to cut to take care of the Freezer. Or how the best way to go about disconnecting the freezer circulation copper-ish, without screwing over the entire colling system. Any help would be awesome. Thank you!

p.s. I am blanking on the model # so when I get home I will post that, if that is needed.

I have no idea - I was under the impression that the freezer is what cooled the unit. To remove it would be to remove the cooler. Plus, it's full of gas, and if you pop a hole in the system the gas would spray out. This has happened to me before trying to manually de-ice the freezer in my younger days.

Mini fridges usually have a solid resale - why not dump it on craigslist and have someone drop off a used fridge at your house?

I thought the freezer on top usually chills the fridge below.

I realized that after I posted, and after I dismantled everything but the coil that actually freezes. I assume I would jerry rig it and mount it to the very top of the fridge itself, but I don't know if I want to yet. If I did, I could perfectly fit two rows of 750's standing up. So we will see if I get board one afternoon and need a small 30 minute project. Thanks for making sure my brain was still working guys, momentary lack of common sense haha.

This is the long term plan. I check out CL every frew days in hopes that I can find a rad little display fridge with 4 rows or so from a shop or something that upgraded or went out of business. I've heard stories of people getting super lucky, so I just keep checking. Thanks again guys.

You can carefully bend the coil up and out of the way, almost flattening it against the top of the fridge. Just be gentle with it and don't kink the metal too bad. Mine is like that and has been fine for two years.

awesome, thanks. Couldn't I use clamps and attach it to the top? Almost suspend it like an inch away from the top?

Sure. I left mine attached at it's mounting points, just pushed up against the 'ceiling'.
