    Hi guys,

I am taking my family down to LA (near K-town) and SD (Carlsbad) next week and I am trying to see if I can locate a few bottles. Please let me know if you have any info.

    Knuckle Sandwich
    Bomb!
Just Outstanding (or Citra - I can dream right?)
    Simtra
    PtE
    Bitter Monk

Thank you so much in advance!

    Joe

You could post in the IP trade forum that you have Washington locals that you would like to trade for the above beers. This may be easier than running around to bottle shops unless you have time to do this. Do go to Pizza Port Carlsbad, it's family friendly and there's a good bottle shop next door.
Don't you guys get Anchorage? You may need to offer something more special to get a Bomb.
I'm sure Fremont or Black Raven bottles would have interest.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah since we are traveling with two kids, I won't be able to bring down beers for trade (we already got way too much stuff with us to carry). I will check out Pizza Port Carlsbad. I am also thinking of stopping by Distillery Outlet - I heard it's another good bottle shop.

Simtra is about the only one you could easily score in those areas. I'd recommend going for some Modern Times, Pizza Port, or Hess and not stress about the chase.

You driving? Take the 5 south to the 20. Take that to the 29. From there take the 12 to santa rosa. Stop for lunch/dinner and all the pliny you can drink. 6 bottle limit to go. Back on the 5 to the 99 to the 178 to kernville for just outstanding. Back to the 5 to la. From la, take the 5 to Fullerton for knuckle sandwiches. Then the 5 down to carlsbad. Sorry i cant route your trip through oklahoma for bomb or alaska for bitter monk.

if you stop in OC on the way to SD then you will be able to access Knuckle and Simtra rather easy, you may even get lucky with PTE as well (a lot of places will get their shipments on Friday).. as far as Bomb!, it is long gone but i can hook you up with a bottle or two if you wish!

Knuckle/JO/Simtra @ Royal Liquors in Encinitas on 101, just south of Carlsbad border. PM if you'd like and I'll pick them up for you. I'd gather you're going to Legoland and I'm right around the corner.

    Update.

Just came back from my trip and oh man it was awesome.

    Here is some info:

Knuckle Sandwich was found at Ramirez Liquor near LA, but it's probably all gone by now.
Simtra was there too but this was more readily available.
Bomb! was available at Distiller's Outlet in SD but they were gone really fast.
I had a bottle of PtE at Sandy's (Huntington beach) of all places lol. Churchill's and Toronado also had them on tap.
Bitter Monk was available at Churchill's.

    A few other noteable finds:

Keene Idea and Hoppy Birthday were available at Toronado SD when I went last Friday
Bottlecraft also has Hoppy Birthday on tap and they had BCBBW on tap before it was replaced by Hoppy Birthday.
Alesmith had Vietnamese Speedway Stout on tap and a taster of it was only like 2 dollars.
Stone Libery Station had 2013 Stone Espresso IRS aged in BB for like 27 dollars (for consumption on site only).
Churchill's Finest Hour 2014 was available for consumption on site.

    Cheers!
