I am new to the craft beer scene and looking to home brew. What equipment will I need? Also, what are some good (easy) recipes to get started? I appreciate any help!

You posted this in the recipe portion of the forum. I'm sure the mods will be moving this to the appropriate area shortly.

If you are really interested in getting started I would suggest reading How to Brew by John Palmer or the Joy of homebrewing by Charlie Papazian.

You can go to howtobrew.com as well to read john palmers book online for free.

I'll suggest that you browse several pages into this forum and you'll find threads that were started that ask the same questions. You'll also see a frequent recommendation to read John Palmer's book How to Brew. It is the best source for any beginner, and is a valued resource for experienced brewers too. You can purchase the book, or an older version is available for reading online at howtobrew.com but it has been said the changes from the older version to the newer one are not that significant. Palmer's book talks about equipment and has recipes.

Probably an average of 1 "Where do I start?" post per page as far back as you feel like looking.

If you are leap without looking type, find the nearest local Homebrew shop, plunk down some cash, and start making beer that is, at best good enough. If you are more of a look before leaping, take some time and follow the recommendations of the above posts and those from the MANY post previous. Welcome to the forum.

You might want to try a one gallon kit first and work your way from there. There are a lot of good kit packages out there, I like the one from Brooklyn Brewing.
