So I love fall expecially the beers that are released during that time. But every year I have failed to find a Pumpkin Ale that I really enjoy.

So I just brew my own now...... but wanted to ask my fellow BAs a question first:

What beer (already created) would you add pumpkin too to make it a 'pumpkin beer'?
Ex) I might add pumpkin to SN Tumbler clone

    And

What style of beer would make a good pumpkin beer?
    Lager? Amber Ale? Brown Ale?

ambers and browns work well. i don't think i've ever had a pumpkin lager but it might be worth a try?

I would not add pumpkin to any already created beer/recipe.

I prefer the desert style pumpkin beers. High gravity, and spiced. Pumpkin beers that don't necessarily taste like pumpkin, however ones that taste like pumpkin pie. ST Pumpking and Shipyard Smashed pumpkin come to mind. I am not sure how much if any pumpkin either of those two beers use but I will be brewing a pumpkin ale next weekend that is based off of Pumpking, its around 1.080 SG, 90% two row, 10% crystal 20, I use two cans (30 oz) of libbeys pumpkin puree in the boil then add freshly zested spice of nutmeg, clove, ginger and cinnamon at flameout, then add fresh pumpkin pie spice at kegging.
