I'm heading to Belgium in a few weeks and was talking with a Belgian friend last night about beer bars I need to visit. He mentioned a bar in Antwerp, but couldn't remember the name of it. Just that it was by the train station and thought it was something that roughly translated to "weigh station" in dutch.

Sound familiar to any of you?

On a side note, anybody interested in an in-person Fou Foune trade let me know! I'm in Brussels on the 29th...

Near the train station? That would be Beer Central. Shit bar and total tourist trap. They don't carry half of their selection and they're stupidly expensive. AVOID, AVOID!!!

    The best ones are:
    - Kulminator
    - Antwerps Bierhuyske
    - Gollem

He probably means "Waagstuk", out on the Stadswaag. About a 10/15-minute brisk walk from the station. The Dutch/Flemish version of the TV show "Jeopardy" was called that. It literally means "a bet" or "a wager" and I think it's named after the TV show. It's a decent bar, but not great in their selection.

Hmmm, the place he was referring to had a deep cellar, with lots of vintage stuff. I was talking about going to the kulminator in search of vintage Rodenbach and he said to check this place out. Think it could be it?
