Hello, just joined this site from New Zealand hoping to get a little help. I have a couple of beer glasses that were given to me or purchased over the years. I'm beginning to get into beer and because I have a couple of types of glasses I want to confirm what each glass is exactly. Had a look at beer advocates glass type page and a few others but am not 100% certain. Clarification on the name and beer usage would be awesome . Also so I do not have double-ups I believe you need to click on the picture to see it not blurry? Excuse the mess, we are renovating. I believe from this site, this is a Stange? (Slender Cylinder) Is this a Weizen? Tulip? Tulip again but the top isn't correct This is very similar to the Henikein glass you get what is it? This is a set of individual glasses I have. I do not believe I need them? I also do have the Pilsner (Pokal), Pint Glass though prob, not a true pint and an IPA glass (not shown on this site, has a narrow bottom, then goes up to a large bowel and get slight narrower at the top. Are there any other types you would suggest I should get? I enjoy all styles of beer (not all brands). I know the saying of "it's your preference" "any glass is good with beer" but want to keep going with a small collection and as it says on this site "So there you have it. Remember to always drink your beer in the proper glassware, because a properly served beer is a better beer" Thank you for your help it is greatly appreciated.
Less blurry pictures would really help... The first picture is definitely not a stange though, as these are smaller and straight. Looks a bit like a shaker pint to me, although it seems slightly larger and thinner at the bottom.
Welcome to Beer Advocate @Boostinu13 I copied the image below from your photobucket page. Does it have all the glasses in your fuzzy pics?
Beer glass terminology varies greatly - the same shape/design often goes by different names depending on country, region, glass manufacturer, brewery or even bar. Take just one example - the justifiably hated, so-called "Shaker Pint" in the US is called by its manufacturer, Libbey a "Mixer" and the 'cheater' shaker pint, a "Cooler": And then there's the "Tulip" and "Schooner" ...
Sorry I do not no why they are blurry, not sure about other sites to use, you have to click on the pic to see it clear. Great again no idea why it makes you click on them but yes they are.
OK hope this is clearer, it wouldn't let me edit my original post to swap pics. I believe from this site, this is a Stange? (Slender Cylinder) Is this a Weizen? Tulip? Tulip again but the top isn't correct This is very similar to the Henikein glass you get what is it? This is a set of individual glasses I have. I do not believe I need them?
I'm not very knowledgeable of the names of drinkware styles, but I've seen people post in this forum of a Libbey catalog that has pics of their designs. Here's what I found for you to browse if you have the time: https://retail.libbey.com/product-category/category/drinkware/
