I have Chinook left over and Citra left over. What do you think will go best with this beer. The beer is getting racked into the secondary in a week. Thank you
Citra's got so much going on as a high alpha aroma hop, being crossbred from like 4 different hops. It would be interesting to add another layer with the Chinook, but I wonder if it would be overkill? Having said that... Homebrewing is EXPERIMENTATION! only one way to find out. In the hops book, Vinnie Cilurzo made reference to his early days of developing the dry hopping style of Pliny the Elder, he said "... there was no research, let's try it and see what happens..." Need I say more
I ended up talking to one of the brewers at the local brewery I go to, he told me about a newer strain of hops from Germany called Hull Melon so I will give that a try. http://www.hopunion.com/german-hull-melon/
Sounds intriguing. Might play well with the honey malt and create something really nice! Let us know how it turns out. Samples are welcomed
