First, sorry if in wrong forum. This seems like "beer talk."

I will be in a state with full Evil Twin distribution (tomorrow to Sunday). No ET distro in Texas, so I'm not too familiar with them. Anyway, I need some help/recommendations as to what is year round, any special releases, things to keep an eye out for, what's currently on shelves.

I looked over their website and gathered that a lot of their beers are brewed at Westbrook, among other breweries. Let us use Westbrook as an example for the following question: Are those brewed at WB only distributed to those states WB distributes too...or are they also required to distro to states with full Evil Twin distro???

Also, tough to figure out what is year round from them. Looks like a lot of limited releases. Any help appreciated!

Too expensive and the quality varies too much for my taste. Haven't really found a solid ET beer that I would hands down recommend. Everyone seems to love Doughnut Break, so that might be the one.

What state will you be in?

As far as I know, Evil Twin uses their own distributor, 12% Imports, so they have a slightly different distro footprint than Westbrook, or any of the other breweries Evil Twin works with.

As for what to look for? Evil Twin is quite expensive, but they really make some good beers. Anything Imperial Biscotti Break will be worth picking up to try- excellent imperial porter. There are a few variants (barrel-aged, Natale, Doughnut, etc) but you'll do well with all of them. Anything in the "Jesus" series is good too, huge, thick stouts with tons of flavor.

On the lighter end, if you see Falco IPA, try it out, it's quite tasty. Anything in the Femme Fatale series, especially the Yuzu variant, will work well for you if you want a funkier IPA.

I've also found that generally their best beers are the ones brewed at Westbrook. You can draw your own conclusions from that, but it's what I've found trying a lot of their stuff.

    Arkansas.

So the Biscotti break and Jesus stuff is what I'm hoping to find. My concern was that those aren't widely available/year round beers. What I read is that they are limited and not brewed often, if more than once. Sounds like you're under the impression these beers are pretty standard these days?

    Thanks for info.

Also, just how expensive are we talking?

Barrel Aged Imperial Biscotti Break and Double Barrel Jesus were two of the best beers I've had over the last year or so.

I love Evil Twin. Molotov Cocktail I really loved and Imperial Biscotti Break + Even More Jesus are legendary.

Doughnut Break is good as well... most of their beers are good or better.

They are "limited", yes, but due to price, they might sit on the shelves, depending on what stores you go in. Bombers will be about $15 for beers in those two series. Your best bet is finding the regular entries in those series- Imperial Biscotti Break and Even More Jesus. Lil B is the base for IBB, I believe, it's not one of my favorites, but a lot of people like it, and will probably be a little easier to find. What I'd do is find a couple stores you want to try and hit, call ahead, and ask about their stock of Evil Twin. Good luck!

    Cheers!

Evil Twin beers are good, but overpriced where there are other, just as good [or better], choices. However, if you just want to say you tried them, go for it. I just don't have any recommendations since I only tasted a few of their beers at an event.

I hear ya. I did some research on what breweries distribute to Arkansas that I can't get in Texas; there wasn't much. Evil Twin looked like my best bet in regards to quality stuff I'd have to trade for otherwise. Therefore, it's my main target.

Even More Jesus is one of my favorite stouts, as is Doughnut Break. Haven't tried Biscotti yet, and I'm kinda reluctant to pay the hefty price for one. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will send it as an extra in a trade:wink:

I use this to compare distribution: http://www.seekabrew.com/distro/index.html
It's not the most accurate but gives me an idea and looking at it, I concur. Evil Twin is the best of what is available in AK that isn't available in TX. Others that I've tried from the only available in AK are Fort Collins and Schlafly.

I'll buy anything from them at least once. Would love a chance to drink The Cowboy one more time.

Any stout or porter I have had by ET has been really good. Prices are a bit high, but IMO if you've never had a beer from them before it's worth at least trying. Their Yuzu IPA and Justin Blaeber Berliner Weiss are also quite good IMO.

I love you with my stout is amazingly good for a non-BA stout.
