    Hi friends,

I'm headed to Montreal for Thursday night through Friday morning next week. I will have limited time because I plan to drive to Hill Farmstead before it closes on Friday. However, for my Montreal trip, after I visit Dieu du Ciel Friday evening, I would like a little advice for the following morning:

At Depanneur Peluso, which breweries should I seek out for bottles to purchase? Dieu du Ciel, Le Trois Mousquetaires, and Charlevoix are what I will be looking for but are there any others I need to get?

Can I visit Le Trois Mousquetaires? Is it worth going?

Can I visit Unibroue? Is it worth going?

    Thanks friends.

Sounds like a pretty good plan to me. Especially for such a short trip. Some other breweries to look for that are readily available and solid would be Le Castor and Dunham. Don't buy IPAs if there's no date. You'll regret it.

I haven't visited either place, but I feel like you could spend your time much more efficiently skipping visiting any breweries. But that's just me.

I would have to agree with @TheDoctor Just enjoy the brewpubs don't worry about brewery visits! Dieu Du Ciel is a great choice as would be Benelux, and Le Saint-Bock. I'm not sure if st ambroise is doing tours atm but they have a Patio behind the brewery overlooking the canal and make an amazing Oatmeal Stout!. Definitely grab Le Castor's Yakima IPA some DDC and LTM Bottles. Dunham as mentioned above and maybe some Beau's All Natural Brewing company stuff if any bottles catch your attention! They are a hit and miss at times but when they hit they make some amazing beers!

Actually a perfect example comes to mind right now! when i first got into craft Beau's was the first brewery I did a tour of. Their goal I think has always been to bring people over to craft and their flagship beer lug tread lagered ale is a kolsh. It is super refreshing flavorful and a nice all around summer beer. I will still happily enjoy a lug tread on their patio! (they are in Ontario an hour outside of Montreal, my parents moved out near them a couple years back so I have had lots of time to experience their hospitality and beers, but I digress) I am sitting here now drinking sentenniel which is DDC's kolsh and I really don't like this one nearly as much, nor have I liked another kolsh as much as lug tread, The same goes for their ceour noir black IPA. their bad beers are average and when they do something right it just comes out amazing! they are also selling the company to their employees slowly over the next 25 years so that it never gets bought up by a big beer company! that is a brewery I can stand behind! Cheers bud! enjoy this city! its a beautiful one!

There is not much to see at LTM, I have visited Unibroue a couple times but it required an email and planning. You realize Chambly is a half hour drive in light traffic and no construction. Summer is the highway construction season in La Belle Province. Think you are better off visiting the brewpubs in Montreal or breweries associated tap rooms. Benelux, Amere Boire etc in that neighbour.

LTM closes at 4pm on Friday and are not open weekends. I also recommend paying a visit to Vices et Versa in Little Italy. As for other breweries, although they can be expensive, A La Fut's wild ales and sours are really well done.

Never saw the drive to Hillfarmstead in there, ambitious. There is a great pub in Waterbury (the town to closest to HFS) that has a better selection of HFS than HFS, Blackback Pub. The list was insane when I was there last year.

My wife and I had a great trip to Montreal. One thing we really enjoyed was renting bikes and riding along the bike trail on the Lachine Canal. Not only a great ride, but we were able to stop by the Saint Ambrose/Mc Auslen brewery which was right off the bike path. Those beers tasted awesome!

It has been a while, so I would check to see if the beer garden/tap room is still open.

    Enjoy your trip!
