Don't drink expensive high abv beers in bed. You will fall asleep and be pissed in the morning. (I opened a 2011 Courage RIS last night after midnight... It seemed like a good idea til I woke up with 8oz left in my glass)

I like Post #40. Regret is a waste of time.

Don't give away or trade away what is currently out of favor. You may grow to like something, or have renewed interest in something you used to like but don't any longer. Besides, think of all the age that bottle will have once you come around.

Just because you didn't like a style a year ago, doesn't mean you won't like it now.

That's a bit too general for the novice, so to specify:

When seeking to open a bottle, do so at the narrower end.

When seeking to open a can, consult an expert.

Also, yeast is not always meant to be drank, it depends on the style. This is why I like to pour my own beers.

Get to know your local bottle store and or brew supply store employees by name
They will be more likely to take care of your needs before others that don't

With this being said....find random objects to crack open the bottle(example: a key, a stick, a butter knife, a lighter, another bottle) . Its a cool way to show off to your friends and peers and also good survival tactic when out in the wild with no bottle opener in sight

Miller Lite now has a hole in the top of the can to insert a key. swirl key around to impart dirty metallic flavor to enhance the beverage.

Keep track of what you try and the styles, that way you"ll have a range of beer that you can always fall back on and find new beers to try.
