Are they really charging $20 for a 16oz bottle?

    Yeah, this is getting odd

H&F a hard pass now. They seem to know their Eventbrites will sellout and have started to charge as much as HF for their stuff.

    This ain't it, chief.

The bottles are 16 oz? How large are the growlers?
I hope they start selling things by the bottle in the future because i'd love to try some of the stout, but i dont want to have to pay $100+ for 3 bottles and 3 growlers.
I wonder if they're trying to go the treehouse route and making their customers be their distributors.

I've paid more than $20 for a 22oz. before, but why charge that if a 32 oz growler of it is $16

Maybe they're taking a hit on that one to simplify the growler pricing as you can choose whichever fills you'd like or a reward as you've already purchased three bottles of it. I certainly don't know, but to each their own.

What remarkable bullshit those prices are.

    $20 / bottle for 500ml stout
$16 / growler for Sour IPA / Stout / IPA

Price includes glass, and per their social media announcement, only those customers who purchase growlers through these Eventbrite events will be allowed to get growlers filled for the first year that their tap room is open (date TBD).

Yes, the price is a bit high, but consider Trillium charges $5 for glass, we can correlate this H&F growler fill to only $11 - just slightly higher than market value.

Lastly, I'm never going to fault a business for charging what they feel is market value for their product. Some people will think that's too high and simply pass. Others will feel the price is fine, and purchase. Considering all tickets sold out, I'm going to go ahead and assume people are OK with the price, and those who aren't shouldn't bitch and moan about it.

Yup. The "fuck those prices" crowd are exactly the point of the higher price given the limited quantity. Bunch of people pass, but product still sells and there's not a clusterfuck.

H&F prices are an issue in my opinion. I think the can release that I went to averaged out to $24 for a four-pack or somewhere around there and the quality of the beer, combined with the overall finish of the final product, absolutely did not justify the cost.

I think a key to the releases selling out is scarcity. You can only get the beer, maybe once a month, through them. People want to try it. It's cool because you can be one of only two-hundred people to get it. Between this, hearing that the beer is good and some of it a bit different, and having to adventure to someone's house to pick it up, they have a nice thing going.

They're nice dudes. Story is awesome. Lot of potential. But if they plan on opening the public in a hyper-competitive market and offer price points that eclipse household names like Trillium, they're going to have a problem in my opinion. I think the measure of their success will be if they are able to have consistent sales, at much higher volume and across a broader customer base, at the same price points. Don't think it's possible, personally.
