Anyone know what's going on the the Henry Weinhard product family? I know the beer went to a contract brewer a while back, but now the Northwest Wheat has disappeared from store shelves and from the web site as well. It looks like all that is available at this point is the Private Reserve, the Blue Boar and the Woodland Pass IPA. I really liked the wheat. It was a summer time staple at my house. I'm not a fan of the Private Reserve, the Blue Boar is undrinkable (IMO) and I have never had the Woodland Pass but if it is anything like the original HW IPA as released a few years ago, it's not good. So what about it? Am I going to have my Northwest Wheat this summer, or are those days gone?
I dont have too much info but it was my understanding that HW isnt doing too well as of the late. Maybe they have to just pull in the belt for a bit and go with their money makers for awhile, while they go back to the drawing board...hope they can get it out there for ya but it wont hurt to start trying some new summertime wheat beers in the meantime to find a possible replacement.
Northwest Wheat was one of my summer drinks too. I think its gone. THey also still have the Blond Lager which I can take. I think the marketing of HW has been a complete disaster for the last few years. These were never craft brews bit always good drinkable cheap beer, that has all changed now. Miller don't know how to market this product. I bet if they sold it all to Full Sail things would better.
