Earth Eagle Brewing is who I am thinking of! a wonderful herbal beer brewer. And there are other standards like Scotland has gruit beer, I have seen other beers made with heather, bog myrtyle, lavender is a favorite of mine =) I like them and you have to look for them . But technically lemongrass if you added it, pine spruce, ginger, rose hips.

Bingo! The folks who believe in herbal medicine count hops as an herb.

My toddler was smelling some of our more fancy-ass loose tea the other day, and described it, unbidden, as 'herbaly'. I intend on using this new word soon in my reviews.

I don't know if they go any further East than Denver, but the Beers Made By Walking project may interest you

The problem with herbal beer on the market is that nobody takes it seriously, or attempts to make a consistent product. It's not that people haven't tried, but it's not commercially viable.

One herb in particular that makes beer have a fascinating aroma is Orris root...but it's insanely expensive.

I would recommend you visit a local herbal botanical outlet and smell around. Homebrewing is a better option than seeking out anything. I have made many beers with great success.

The problem with commercial herbal beers is that they are just not commercial viable. Learn about local plants, and harvest free herbs. Buy some ingredients and brew your own.

Stillwater makes one with lavender heather and something else. The reason I did not buy this beer is because I did not know what was in it as the label is not eye catching, and it is already over a year old on the shelf where it sits. =(

I just had Stone's 14th Anniversary "Emperial IPA"
Brewed with Target, East Kent Goldings, and Bodaecia hops. I'm a HUGE fan of herbal beers (yet there are barely any out there), yet I would easily buy a case of this stuff. Super earthy, pine, eucalyptus, sage, all that good stuff.

This is the best I've had with anything I'd consider herbal in it. It had spearmint and was very tasty:

I'm not sure if that qualifies, but it's by far the best herbal-like beer I've had. I've also had a gruit and it was not an easy pint to get through. Cool experience but nothing I'm chomping at the bit to try again.

That sounds really tasty - always enjoy a spicy and herbal saison!
