Is open in Fairfield. Small place, great beer, and good people. Stopped in this afternoon for a couple of beers, on tap today Evil Cousin, Evil Twin, Gramarye, Shallow Grave, Miscreant, Torment, and Chocolate Hazelnut Porter (CHP). They do growlers of the first 4, and will fill growlers from other breweries if they are covered. The only size growlers they can fill are 1 Gallon (3.79 L), 2 Quarts (1.89 L), and 1 Quart (0.95 L). If you buy their glass it costs a whopping $4. Bottles are also available. Friday is Firkin Day. A cask will be tapped at 3:00 PM. I think Evil Twin tomorrow. Finally good beer in Fairfield.
Wait, Fairfield? Why was I thinking those guys were in Antioch? Where? Is it at the 1052 Horizon they list as a mailing address? And what are the hours? Either this info isn't online or I'm thinker than I drunk I am.
They've been located in Pittsburg for as long as they've been around. I don't know if they're completely relocating to Fairfield, or if they've just opened a tasting room there.
They moved out of Pittsburgh in April or May. Full operation in Faifield, room for significant brewing expansion. Taproom hours Tue- Fri 3:00-8:00 Sat - Sun 12:00-5:00. Tours are Tue (I think) and Fri at 4;00.
Went there the other day. It's pretty bare bones at this point, but well worth dropping by if you're in the neighborhood. The beers are good to great, and the growlers are cheap. Just a side note: I bought a growler of Gramarye, took it home and realized that what I actually had was a blend of Gramarye and (I think) Evil Twin! I think what probably happened was the women behind the counter filled it with Gramarye, then let it sit for a second to settle the foam, forgot what she was doing and topped it off with Evil Twin. At any rate the beer was darker than Gramarye, with some caramel malt in there. Still tasted good!
Last time I was there, about a month ago, they had two sours on tap. Both decent. Try the CHP, you won't be disappointed!
Agreed. I was there last weekend. The CHP (chocolate hazelnut porter) was fantastic. Their Dark Santa was quite nice (spiced holiday ale) and they had an imperial stout as well as a berlinerweiss and a dark sour on, in addition to the standard lineup. Worth a visit if you're driving past it on 80.
