I am heading to Hershey for a weekend at the park with the kids. Gonna definitely stop by Troegs for a tour and the Warwick Hotel looks like a nice little restaurant with a decent tap list. Any other bars/breweries/bottle shops in that area that are worth seeking out? Thanks in advance for your help.

Brass Rail deli for nearby bottles.

Appalachian in Harrisburg for a meal

Al's of Hampden for beer.... lots of beer... and pizza.

Agree w/ Jaysus. Brass Rail is just several miles away (in Campbelltown) and a good bottle shop to hit up. Al's of Hampden is great for draft and there own stuff is also top notch. It's probably a 20 min drive west from Hershey. Of course, Troegs is right next to the park and an absolute must. Enjoy!

Definitely don't miss out on Pizza Boy/Al's of Hampden if you're heading out that way. Tons of beer on draft, pizza, sandwiches, growler fills, bottles to go, etc.

It's a large space too, so there's no being cramped into a tiny beer bar/brewery. I don't have kids but when I was there on a Sunday afternoon there was a number of families there so that shouldn't be a problem either.

Any suggestions for the Lancaster area?

There's an Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant in Lancaster. I haven't been to that particular one but there are several located throughout the PA and NJ area. From the few that I have been to in the past I have never had anything bad to say about the food, beer, and service.

Thanks to everyone for the good suggestions. And Evan, haven't you started enough of your own threads without having to hijack mine?. If I didn't already have 100 or so 5 oz. snifters, I'd ask you to send me one.

I'm merely adding to the information for our wonderful community. So now how's about sending out some of those 100 or so 5 oz'ers???

Based on suggestions here I did hit Appalachian for dinner, great place, very good food, solid beers, and a great atmosphere. Troegs is a very impressive facility, probably the nicest i have seen on the east coast outside of DFH. Sorry Evan, no little snifters for sale there though, they were out of them when i visited.
There is also a Lancaster Brewpub in Harrisburg and The Warwick Hotel in Hummelstown has a good tap list with frequent tap takeovers.
Seems many of the bottle shops are closed on sundays though so if you are heading out that way for a weekend, do your shopping on saturday and leave sunday as a day of rest. Thanks again to all!!!

as been mentioned...if in or near Harrisburg just go straight to Pizza Boy/Al's of Hampden. Not that there aren't other cool places around...but Terry is brewing some of the best beer on the east coast if not the country.
