Hey i'm new here and wat does this mean?

    Sorry for the noob post but what does IT forward mean? what are the terms BIF, GIF, HIF,LIF and what do they mean and how does it work?

    CIF - Chalice it forward
    DONG - draft only no growler
    FT - for trade
    GIF - growler it forward
    IP - in person
    ISO - in search of
    LIF - Lottery it Forward
    NBO - New BIF Opportunity
    TACO - Ticker Ale of Compromised Origin (handbottle)

    It forward is basically a group trade (whether it be for beer, chalice, growler etc as posted above).

    The person running the It Forward (in the case of a BIF) does a NBO thread to gauge interest/get people to sign up (with shipping details etc). They then assign targets for everyone to ship to.

    Person A sends a box to Person B who sends a box to Person C who sends to Person X etc...everyone sends a box and everyone receives a box...you send a box to someone and receive a box from someone else without knowledge of who is sending to you.

    People often give hints to the recipient of their box as a bit of fun to have them guessing as to who is sending to them.

    ale watcher breaks it down really nice. prior to being in one, I looked it up due to curiosity and that blog post was very informative.
