So I'm going to be sending a case of Zombie Dust from 3F to some one hopefully next week. What is a beer that i SHOULD try. Or a beer that i can get in PA that i can not get in Chicago? (any thing you can get on this site, i can get currently. http://www.binnys.com/ )

Maybe educate me a bit, as all i know about Pennsylvania is that you have Victory and Weyerbacher. Which offer some lovely brews, but we stock them daily at the store i work at here in Chicago Land.

I am ignorant to Pennsylvania when it comes to beer. Please enlighten me

This tells you what beers are registered for sale in PA. Look through it until you find something you want and that you can't get in Chicagoland.

    http://www.lcbapps.lcb.state.pa.us/webapp/registered_brands.asp

    Good luck and have fun!

Edit: BTW, IIRC from my last visit to Chicago area you don't get Troegs there so you might look at their beers. The Hopback Amber is nice, as is the Trogenator Doppelbock. Also, if you can wait a month or so you could get some Nugget Nectar.

WWW.seekabrew.com is helpful for figuring out which brands are distributed here. Keep in mind many of these are only available in and around Philly.

If your trader is in central PA, you should try to get a growler of IPA from Selin's Grove.

Just taking a quick look at that list of what don't get in Illinois. I'd say some Ithaca Flower Power, maybe something from Troeg's or if he has access to Russian River maybe something from them.

It's mostly because of the relationships our big beer people here have with brewers. That's why we get things like Russian River, Cigar City, Half Acre, Funky Buddha, etc, when those breweries mainly service their local markets.

Anything by Troegs. They have a limited distribution area.

I don't know how much a case of Zombie Dust costs but you should try to trade for a case of Mad Elf. or at least a Troeg's Sampler case.

    Pretty sure it's around $40.

And I like that we still don't know what part of PA he's talking about yet.

For the most part, you're only going to find RR stuff around Philly. Origlio is the RR distributor there, and they generally don't distribute RR stuff outside of SEPA. In other words, if your friend happens to live in Central or Western Pa., more than likely he/she is not going to be able to find any RR for you.

He said he would be willing to get anything he possibly could for the case of ZD. Anyways, i have a few bottles im looking for and im going to see if he can get. Otherwise im pretty much sold on Troegs and a few other good locals. He said he is near the Allentown area. Quick google-fu shows him roughly 60 miles north of Philly

Thank you all for some good suggestions on good information on Pennsylvanian brews

Now to wait till payday and head down to 3F's

Mari's in Reading carries some RR stuff, but that is as far west as I have seen it.
