Yeah, they had two BCBCS, 6x sucaba, 6x BA Bigfoot, and a black ops. The big one was the single bottle of Bruery Two Turtle Doves. Didn't go, but I guess it was a good way for them to get more business. The shop sits on a lot of beers, and their beer buyer often makes you buy other regular stuff whenever a special release comes out.
said beer buyer is gone, hence the clearing-out of the cooler. got one each of the BCBCS and Sucaba (and a Blushing Monk!), but passed on the others as i already have some of each. they've got cases of Bigfoot back to 2008 in the cooler and will be doing some combination of single sales and vertical packs (along with the various vintages of BCS and Monster on the floor), but otherwise there is no more secret stash. oh, and i just realized something- i saw Rabid Duck on the shelf, but it's gotta be from the infected batch that we got last year, so i'd highly suggest not buying it (or the bottle of Jai Alai from 2011).
Emily's gone? can think of quite a few people around town who will be happy about that news (assuming Vine South mgt changes some of their/her older rules...)
yup. Jay, as you probably know, is leaving Northside and Peter is taking over the beer side of things up there. talked to Peter yesterday at Southside where he was helping to reorganize and clean up the stockroom and he confirmed that Emily is indeed gone. not going to comment on her methods, and as far as i know she had free-reign, but i'm assuming from yesterday's spread that things will likely be a little different, although i have no idea who the new beer buyer will be (the brothers are great guys, but not exactly beer nerds).
hopefully Peter takes over the buyer role, he has the experience/knowledge. saw Jays post but he was just a stock/sales clerk, right?
