I am sorry if this has been posted a million times before. I am coming up to VT to visit my mom (lives in Hancock) in a few weeks. My tentative plan is to hit Hill Farmstead when they open that Wednesday at noon. I was just curious if they fill growlers that aren't theirs. I know they have 2L and .75L growlers for sale, but do they also fill the standard 64oz growlers from other breweries? Thanks the help guys.
I would hope they wouldn't charge more since 64oz is little less than 2L. Either way enjoy the beers!
I heard straight from the horses mouth a bit back that they were hoping at some point in the next year to stop filling other people's growlers. I'm sure they'll announce it if/when it happens.
(Just to add)...Make sure you bring your own cap for the growler. The prices are the same for 64oz and 2L growlers. I've seen them fill 1L growlers as well, they will just charge you accordingly.
They charge a dollar or two extra since the 750s fills are already a little over half-price. Edit: actually I forgot, the price cut sort of jumps around for different styles. But Im always charged extra for a 1L
I'm going to guess that they just tack on a few bucks to the 750mL price (it makes more sense). I'm not 100% sure b/c I don't have any 1L growlers, I've just seen them fill 1L growlers. Either way it's not too much of a difference. Just bring 750's or 2L's then you'll know the cost for sure. That's what I do.
Yeah probably. I had a Flat 12 growler (32oz./brown plastic) filled before. Fits in the water bottle cage on my bicycle yo!
I've been meaning to ask Shaun this, but haven't. Has anyone actually filled a stainless growler at HF? I'm going to buy some of them from Societe and would love to be able to use them again since they're $25. Since I'll be at HF before I go to SD again I guess I'll just ask him then (unless he reads this =)
i'm pretty sure they do. i've seen them fill some really strange ceramic vessels, so i would imagine stainless steel is fine.
