Hi all, new member here but have been brewing off and on since 1998. I have been lurking about and figured I’d jump onboard. Right now I only brew 2.5 gallon BIAB recipes. Anyways, thought I would say hello.
Hello HouseOfAles from a Troll down below the bridge. We're glad that you joined. I'm guessing that you've been lurking long enough so that you've discovered the Homebrewing forum, but if not, you're welcome to spend time there along with whatever interests you have in the other features of this site. I still hang out in the homebrewing forum even though it's been 6-7 years since my last brewing session. I still have a couple clone recipes that I'd like to brew if I can find the time. (I'm retired with no extra time based on priorities in my life. ) Keep enjoying the site, and chime in in the forums whenever you can.
Thanks for the welcome PapaGoose. It had been a good 6 years for me also until I started brewing again last October. I always did extract and decided to do small batch BIAB when I started up again. I also planted hops for the first time this year. Getting close to harvest time. Thanks again for the welcome.
@HouseOfAles happy to have you aboard. We just brought in or thirteenth hop harvest. Lucky 13 as it was by far the best year to date. And there is a (light) smoky Saison in the fermenter. We grow Cascade, Magnum, Mt. Hood, Santiam, and Willamette. Just for the fun of it really. Which ones do you have? I tried home smoking the grains and probably was too timid about it. Time will tell. **edit below
I have Columbia and Saugatuck just because they are different. And a Horizon I got free from Great Lakes Hops.
