    First Post here!

So I thought I would share with everyone a hidden gem in Tracy, CA. It is called Pete's Liquor, they have a great selection of beer! They even bring in beer from some of the more local micro brews from Lodi and a couple other places. They have the usuals as far as Stone, Drakes, Lagunitas, and they even sell Russian River! For those who may not know these are the people who brought you Pliny the Elder (PtE) and Blind pig. They also own a liquor store in Pleasanton that has the same great beer selection! They are pretty knowledgable about the beer as they drink it themselves!

I lived in Tracy from 1984 until 1999 (elementary, middle, and high school there). I've lived in Orange, CA for the last 10 years and called anything in Tracy a "gem" is laughable. haha. sorry.

I don't know, cause I've only been there a handful of times in the last 10 years. No reason to go to that town unless you're visiting family.

My name is josh, and I approve this ad.
I never thought I'd see a city that was worse than Bakersfield... and then I drove through Tracy.

I think the most amazing part of this entire post/thread is that it took this long for someone to use the profile name "PlinyFan". We're obviously slipping as a community.

Yeah I don't work there, I work in Solar. I didn't realize the backlash I would get from this forum for using the term "Gem" for a great place to get good beer in a crap town. Made Diamond in the rough would have been better?

The reason I wanted to share this place is because I have met people who have driven out of town for an actual selection of beer. Just trying other who have the unquenchable thirst for non yellow fizzy beer made from concentrate.

I hear ya! Hints why I used the word Gem like I mentioned in a previous reply maybe I should have used "diamond in the rough". I mean its not often in the central valley that you come across a place who actually has new beer weekly from local micro brews and from the bigger craft brewing guys. The closest up until this place was bevmo, they too have a great selection but it is limited by what distributor they go through.

It could just be the way you presented the information - sounded more like an informercial (e.g., the liberal use of exclamation points) than a rec. In any event, I'm sure folks in the Central Valley are stoked, as I assume there isn't much to be stoked about out there.

Yeah thats probably very true! (oops) Yeah a buddy of mines co worker was drving out to San leandro to get a case of beer every couple of weeks because he could not find a place that sold Drakes - Denoginizer. A great beer for sure and worth the drive if its not available to you locally. We saved him an hour every other weekend and the gas money it takes to get there.

By far the best selection in this town with expansion plans in the works. Super friendly staff that's willing to work with you on ordering or bringing in what you seek.

but he didn't use any exclamation points(!) This is 100% real and not a shamelessful plug of said liquor store(!)
again, even if it has an epic selection... nobody is stopping in Tracy for some bottles when you can go an extra 30 minutes to an hour for true gloriousness(!)
