Anyone had their beer before? I'm not sure I understand how this would provide a different flavor than fermenting the same beer in new barrels made of those trees on top of the pine needles.
I would imagine that being freshly cut the full flavor of the wet wood and sap would influence the beer. Fresh made casks..the wood is already kiln dried
I've only had a few of their beers, a Russian rye stout stood out of the 3, it was done with a whole bunch of mushrooms as it matured. Very earthy as you might imagine. He does some interesting stuff that you can find here and there in Spokaloo. He self distributes for now.
I tried to add them to the database, but since he brews them on his family farm (in Liberty Lake, iirc), it's hard to add it when 1) it's a private address where people live. 2)I don't know it and 3) even if I did I'd be reluctant to post it (see #1) Fortunately, it seems he'll soon be opening a tasting room.
Most recently I've had his molasses porter (Colonial Beast). I've also had a couple saisons (including a FH one) and a smoked porter, among others I can't recall at the moment. I've enjoyed them all.
