I wouldn't say that. It seems the only way they would make more money is by raising prices. Because with their limit on to-go beer, they have clearly maxed out their brewing capacity.

true... i guess i meant to say if they weren't so far out there they would run out of beer even faster and would then i guess have to be closed... it would be like what we are running into here in NJ with Troon.... 500 crowlers gone in 2 hrs... can't keep up with demand... almost have to grow instantly or you just can't service your demand.... thus making even more of a killing

i think what hidden river is doing is managing their growth rather slowly tokeep onsite customers happy (building a loyal customer base? maybe sustain themselves long term?). they also serve food and operate as a brewpub, so not just in the business of moving product quickly like you seem some breweries that do releases are trying to do. i really feel like hidden river knows most people that walk through their doors. obviously, there are people that travel to check out the place as its still relatively new. its a very comfortable place and a great atmosphere if thats what youre looking for.

I would love to see them throw a few more tanks in that back room where the second bar is, they could probably double their production.

Going on a hike in the area Saturday and really hoping to stop by here. This probably won't make or break my visit, but: I know they're in a super rustic location, right? Just wondering if they have TVs that they might be showing the PSU game on. Weren't sure if they were trying to avoid that type of atmosphere, but that would make my decision-making easier, if so!

Ah, that's s shame but understandable. Thanks for the reply. Assuming they're dog friendly at least, right?

And was thinking about heading like an hour north of there to Hawk Valley but if anyone has any closer suggestions I'm definitely open to ideas.

How long do you want to hike? Right around there is a quick hike at Monocacy Hill. Decent vista at the top of the hike. I think you can make it close to a 5 mile loop based on the trails

So I went to the Levante collab release yesterday (the beer is definitely more Levante than HR, but they brewed it there so that's not too surprising) and it was way busier than I thought it would be. I got there around 5:30 and was one of the last 5 or 6 people to get the beer. I wonder how the release at HR is gonna be today.

On a side note, did anyone have the Paw Paw Thief? I'm going today after work and I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Yeah they collab'd with Levante on a double ipa. Half of the cases were sold at Levante yesterday and half at Hidden River today. Only about 110 cases at each location.

Since Sunday is specifically designated as BYOFood I take it it's probably a faux pas to bring food on a Sat afternoon at 2 before the kitchen opens?

If you hang outside... i can't really see them having an issue. They are pretty laid back and nice there. You can always call and ask.
