Which is funny because we were there tonight and were told, "We don't do take out beer." Pretty sure the bartender was just being lazy, but we were pretty pissed since we saw a 32 oz growler walk out with a friend ahead of us, and we saw 2 idle crowler machines.

Hmm. I thought the opposite. This beer screams Hidden River to me. I spoke with Doug quick on Thursday night (stopped on my way back from the release at Levante), and the recipe is more HR than Levante. They were very happy with the collab. And it shows. Regardless, this beer is phenomenal!

Funny side note, you may have been right behind or in front of me. Got there around 5:30 and by the time I got my beer I saw maybe 6 cases left on the pallet.

Also, had Paw Paw. It's was good. Totally not what I was expecting but still good. Way fruitier than I imagined it would be.

They were not doing any takeout beer on Friday due to the can release is what I remember reading.

It wasn't explained that way. They just said that they didn't do takeout beer (which made it sound like they didn't do any kind of takeout beer ever, instead of just not that night), and a friend who popped in just before us did get a 32oz growler filled. *shrugs* I get that they were closing to the public early for the Halloween event, and things were a little chaotic, but I would've appreciated the truth with an invitation to come back on a day they do offer crowlers instead of a lie just to get us out the door.

I've had a few. I opened one a few hours after the Levante release on Thursday:

Really, really good beer. Very much more in the Hidden River vein than Levante, in my opinion. That could be because apparently a large majority of the recipe and influence was indeed from Hidden River.

i hate to answer your 2nd question like this, but the answer is maybe. sometimes there is a line 25 people deep, other times its half that. also, im not sure how many crowlers they usually have to start the day. maybe someone else can chime in?

If you guys haven't been down there in a while, I highly recommend you take a trip this weekend. Flanges on the Wheel and Titan of the Harvest might be the two best DIPAs I can remember ever having from them.

The Unfathomable Mystery DIPA and Valley of Petrichor NEIPA were both outstanding. I wish I lived closer to the brewery (it's at least a 90-minute drive one way) but I was in the area and decided to stop in to see whether the hype was deserved.
    It is.
That was my first visit to HRB, but it definitely won't be my last!

I haven't been there in awhile, I need to change that. They are only 15 minutes away for me, but it's still hard to get there because you have to carve out time to just sit there, not easy to do but always worth it when I do.

Amen, I would drink a lot more Hidden River if they had packaging beyond random crowlers. Great for them that they are doing well, just need them to start growing.
