Where did they put the set up for the crowler machine? I can't imagine them putting it behind the bar with how incredible small it is.

I had a glass of Hidden River Social Secession IPA at a local beer bar yesterday. It was billed as being a ‘NE’ style IPA which was double dry hopped.

This beer was as advertised: murky, hoppy with a soft mouthfeel. I enjoyed drinking this beer; it had lots of tropical fruit flavors. I was quite a bit surprised that it had very little aroma. How can you double dry hop and not have a substantial hop aroma?

    Cheers!

I actually had a chance to try all of them this weekend and got a growler of both the Social Secession and the Ozacca for Thanksgiving. For me, the Ozacca was the star of the show. Social Secession was still a good beer, but as Jack said it was a bit mellow on the aroma. Still, it was a nice IPA lineup there this weekend.

So what's their preferred method for what's on tap? Instagram?

Asked this a couple days ago:

    • @hiddenriverbeeris there a place where I can get an updated tap list? I follow you across all platforms including untappd, just curious
    • hiddenriverbeerCheck out Facebook on the Thursday post. The first comments are our tap list and menu to start the week. 2 new IPAs are replacing a few from that list though.

Just got back from there, Blushing Yellow was orgasmic. No growler/crowler fills because it's so popular and in short supply. Awesome beer, my favorite of theirs so far. Wow.

Ok so I had the other two, Friends and Neighbors and Melt Banana Face and all three are very solid beers. I think there is a slight element of complexity missing from all three but rated them all right behind some of Tired Hands best. need to try some of their other offerings.

Melt Banana Face was not my favorite of theirs, but I had a grolwer of the Friends & Neighbors last night that was very good. It was not near as good as Blushing Yellow, but it was good. We should see some new IPAs next weekend is what I heard yesterday, the Blushing Yellow is almost gone. Shame, great beer.

Armstrong just posted some demolition pictures on FB, so looks like they are starting to make some progress now.

Reviving this thread. I was there over the New Years weekend and had 2 more fabulous beers. It seems like each beer is better than the last. This time I got there Saturday at 1:45 and the line had already formed outside. I was probably the 5th person in. The two beers I had were River to River (pale ale) and Zodiac Hex (IPA). River to River was phenominal and Zodiac Hex was almost as good. I grabbed a crowler of each (crowlers sell fast) and still have the Zodiac Hex to drink.

For those that have not gotten here yet, it is a MUST visit. Love this place, I only with they had larger capacity. Doug told me they normally yield between 2 to 4 barrels of each beer only. Wow, if they could increase production, look out!

Do they frequently do crowlers? Or only occasionally ahead of time? I only remember seeing one post about it and was there a couple weeks ago and saw nothing crowler related

From when I have been, albeit only a couple of times they said that they crowler on Friday for the weekend and release an allotment each day. It's only of a couple different beers too, seems like the more popular NE style beers.
