I generally don't care for hazy IPAs - I've typically like their hoppy reds, double IPAs, and Porters/stouts more. But that one was good.

Me too. Make a hazy IPA as a regular. The 200 was very good, I got the last growler of it today! I've had most of their IPAs over the last 4 weeks and they have all been spectacular. Now can they just ramp up production to give more supply? Ummmm, probably not. Shame too. Great beers.

Message Hidden River posted on FB about growler fills. I assume this means they have been selling beer faster than they can brew:

We have a few updates for you on our 32oz growler and can fills, particularly for our hop-forward beers.

We ask that you keep in mind that we are primarily a brew pub, so we currently focus on brewing beer for consumption onsite. Remember that we post our opening draft list for every weekend on Thursday here on our facebook page, usually as a comment to our main post of the day. This list is subject to change over the course of a weekend.

As far as our growler and can fills, we do a combination of 32oz growlers and/or cans, depending on the day.
    - Thursdays & Sundays are typically growler days, with most beers available, one per style per person.
    - Fridays and Saturdays we do 32oz cans only, also one per style per person.
    - Most beers are available in both formats (on the appropriate days), although due to high demand, we are starting first come, first serve allotments of our IPAs and other hop-forward beers:
Thursday: 20 32oz growler fills (or 32oz cans) available
    Friday: 50 32oz cans available
    Saturday: 50 32oz cans available
Sunday: based on what we have left

***Please note, we are no longer able to hold your cans and growlers in the fridge - please bring a cooler or other appropriate baggage to keep your purchase cool while you sip in the pub

how crowded is it on a fri/sat night? might not get there until 9pm and didn't know if they have crowlers available? pours? or if there's just too many people to bother?

There is never "too many people to bother" in my opinion. It does get crowded and they tend to be pretty efficient from what I've seen and you can go almost anwhere in the "Lodge" or even outside if you won't be too chilly. I think you might be able to snag a crowler since they do 50 of them but I'm not sure.

I was there two weeks ago on Saturday night - about 8pm. Each time I ordered a new round, had to wait in a ~5 person line which only took a few minutes. Plenty of space in the back rooms to hang out.

Finally thinking about making my way back there. How have the Friday afternoon crowds been at open? Looking to get there right at 4pm or is it necessary to get a little bit earlier?

Also are they crowlering upon demand or just precrowlering for pickup?

got to stop in here a few weekends back on a sunday.. they had a nice amount of people and i didn't have to wait long for a pour... I enjoyed the little time i got to spend there.. had to bounce quick to get somewhere else... sadly this place is a bit too far of a hike for me to make it over with any regularity but if i was 30-40 mins closer I'd probably try to get there every few weeks... but i'd still like to get over there a few times a year at my distance but not being able to bring growler/crowler of ipa's home kind of sucks.. I get it.. but it also means they are further down my list.. which i'm sure is actually how they want it so they don't have people coming from 2 hrs' away buying up all their beer haha

Hope to see them grow and possibly be able to offer fills more often of all styles

At 4 on Friday you'll be fine. There will be people, but not super crowded.

Pre-crowler only. Fridays are crowler days as are Saturdays. Thursdays and Sundays are growlers (if they have enough beer). Friday at 4 they will have crowlers available, but buy them when you get there as they do tend to sell out pretty quickly.

I get there pretty regularly too, I just wish they would fill growlers any day....which they don't. Limit it to 1 growler, but at least fill them whatever days they are open. Still, I love the place and love the beer.

Right on, I work within 20 minutes of them but live about an hour away so trying to figure out how to get there during the week. Tomorrow will be my test run, liked everything I have had from them so far.

The Most High, double IPA w/ lactose, suffered from the "incredible on the 1st sip, but by the end I just wanted it over with" syndrome. The chocolate cherry pale ale was a miss as well, but the Breathe free, dry-hopped saison, was top notch. They try a lot of stuff so there are going to be misses, but for the most part there beers are excellent.

So dropped into HR this past Sunday. Turns out it's about 15 minutes from my younger brother's house. Should of picked up on that fact sooner as I've seen his growler with a turtle logo about a thousand times, heh...

Anyway, I tried, Thinking about Forever (hazy ipa), Green Invigorate (wet hop ipa), and Reviving Inertia (west coast ipa...though really just a hazy citra bomb).

All were excellent beers, and the super chill atmosphere on the deck was great. Quite the local gem.

Thanks for reviving this thread. I cant believe the last post was back in March with the stellar weekly offerings these guys are pushing out. That recent peach IPA they dropped was absolutely mind blowing. Loved it.
