I've been fortunate to win a couple of LIFs lately (from GuisseppeFranco and Pschul). Been meaning to start this for awhile but wanted to wait until some of the LIFs that have been running lately were winding down. Here goes:

Recently, I attended my 25th high school reunion (graduated 1987). It wasn't really anything spectacular, although I was comforted by the realization that I wasn't the only one that had gotten a little fatter and a little grayer. This LIF is based on some facts from my high school days in rural Minnesota and does contain a beer component.

Rules--lower 48 only (insert obligatory apology to Alaska and Hawaii here), if you've won a LIF recently, that's fine, doesn't matter to me if you start your own LIF after winning.

Winner will receive a box of Michigan goodies that will contain at least a couple of bottles of Founders Breakfast Stout when the new batch is released in early Sept. There won't be anything exotic or rare in the box, so if you have access to Founders/Bells/other Michigan off the shelf stuff, you may want to sit this one out and give someone else a chance. I plan on shipping the week after Labor Day.

    Here are the 3 questions:
    1. My high school class had two foreign exchange students--one male, one female. I took the female one to senior prom (it sucked--she drank a whole bottle of vodka and spent most of the night vomiting). What country was this fine young lady from?

    2. Our "class song" my senior year was voted on by my classmates. The song was actually released in the latter half of 1985. This song was never a Top 40 hit, but it did fit the "rebellious" nature of kids that age. I will tell you that this song may not have actually garnered the most votes among my classmates. However, yours truly was the one who tallied votes, so some liberties may have been taken with the final vote count. Name this song and artist/band.

    3. I didn't drink a whole lot back then, but there was a definite beer of choice for me and my friends. In part, this beer was chosen due to the ease of hurling the empty bottle and the aerodynamic properties of this bottle. This wasn't a well-known BMC brand and was more well-known where I grew up. Just the name of the beer is needed--doesn't have to be too specific. Name my beer of choice 25 years ago.

Hints given as I have time and see fit. One guess per hint. Ready....go!

Song has been guessed, but beer and country have not.

The country is in the northern hemisphere.

    Awesome LIF!

I'm sympathizing with your prom experience as mine was eerily similar - small town Minnesota and a vomiting vodka date, at least you two made it to the actual prom.
