This is my thought on all of these. The data is there, so, assuming adequate server/whatever space, why not?

agree. certain forum politics / reality TV stuff is inevitable if people post regularly, but at the end of the day you just have to realize it's no big deal. and presenting data is never a bad thing.

I have never been on an active forum where the top posters were truly just pushing out spam. At first maybe when they start up and its "possible" to inflate yourself with junk, but as time goes on they fall off the spam posts. Those who truly commit and post quality 99/100 times rise to the top. But on topic, I support and thank BA for considering a "most reviews" when they revamp the site.

Very good point and completely true. I come to this site for the reviews and have the additional benefit of being able to share thoughts (and beers) with other BAs.

Thanks for the heads up. . . good to know I'm not the only one not reviewing beers under the status quo.

    But,
Nevada's #1 beer reviewer on BA asking how to review beers in a thread about the highest posting beer reviewers isn't 'related' to the thread?

Reasonable minds can disagree I guess. . .

I find it really helpful to see how many beers a person has reviewed; it isn't a perfect indicator but it can be an indicator of experience in tasting (obviously this isn't to say there aren't people with few or zero reviews that are potentially even more experienced). For instance if someone with 2500 reviews says "x is the best new beer this year you have to try it" I personally put more gravity in that than someone who has very few reviews (or has just posted a zillion +1s in the forum) saying it.

    Yup, what Craytonic said.

When I was researching a beer on this website when it was fully functional, I didn't look at the overall score or the bros score first, I care what the top 10 reviewers said about the beer.

The top reviewers seem to have much less geography bias than your average BA as well.

But having most posts in the forums isn't a badge of honor. And it's essentially static and therefore uninteresting. Is there a way to replace it with tiles of members with "most recently active" or "most recently active among members you follow"?
