I'm confused as to how fun juice is still available or at least was yesterday. That beer is pretty good and all their other sours sell out in 22.5 seconds.Has the hype train left HPB (I'm ok with this since I like all their beers)? Did they produce a ton? Or has there been to much beer produced lately and not enough cash floating around?

No stone fruit or berries might mean no hype. Their loss imo.

Just had a Wild Rice Saison. While not necessarily my favorite HPB Saison it actually did taste like wild rice on the finish, which was surprising to me (for some reason). And the color was more Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay than beer. Nice and complex flavors, probably will be even more so after a few more months in the bottle. Overall an excellent effort, as always.

I know this sounds superficial, and seems to go against everything I think about buying beer just to get drunk, but I personally had a hard time spending $15 per bottle on a 4% beer. Don't get me wrong, I did it anyway, but I wonder if this had anything to do with it?

this + lack of hype fruit (cherries, stone fruit, or raspberries), probably. Also they're still somehow just barely pre-hype. Too much good SoCal beer. If they were in some sparsely populated area of the country with only a handful of other world-class breweries anywhere nearby you can bet this shit would be impossible to land.

Anyway, let's just enjoy it while it lasts, because if they keep making beer this good this type of occasionally relaxed availability will one day go away.

With a 5 month old at home I cherish flavorful beers at 5% and under. Looking forward to this one.

I get this but almost all their sours are low ABV, mostly in the 4's, I think raised eyebrows may be even lower.

raised had stone fruit + to it's hype. I dunno what it is about this and a few other of their sours that are banging but get very little hype opposed to some of those that just blow the fuck up.

I don't question it, I just enjoy it for what it is now and how easy it is to attain right now.

Finally opened my first Wild Rice Saison and it is as fantastic as I expected. Not sure if I'm tasting any rice but it's such a refreshing balanced perfect summer beer. I'll buy more on Wednesday if it's available.

Wholeheartedly agree. For me the wild rice was mostly in the aftertaste and it was very distinct. It was not a general rice flavor but specifically wild rice, which may not actually be rice at all.

    Anyway, whatever...great beer!
