Anyone have experience or an educated guess on crowds to expect during the week after Presidents’ Day? I went last year without realizing that it was the Saturday of PD weekend, and it was the shitshow to end all shitshows. This year we are planning to go to VT again the week after that and hoped to stop by, hopefully on Wednesday. Predictions?

Hope for the best, expect the worst. That’s my attitude when it comes to going there.

Going to HF on Wednesday? If it’s school vacation week in NY/NJ/CT/MA may be a crowd. But typically Weds and Thursday afternoon is reasonably mellow.

Juicy is one of my fav's, but I miss the 375ml format. The idea of making the trek for 4 bottles instead of 2 gets me more excited.

I’ll be heading up tomorrow and arriving at open; looking to share some on-site bottles if anyone’s interested!

I went up yesterday. Roads were great, Route 16 had the usual slush but Taylor Road was plowed with fresh dirt on top. It was my first visit all month that didn't involve snow, so I was happy. Best part of the visit was Poetica #3 in proper mugs finally! I'm also incredibly happy that they are now offering a Poetica pour any day of the week. Finally, if you head up this week don't miss the Earl 2013 keg!

Second this, it was delicious. In a day where I was fortunate enough to split a Beyond Good and Evil and Flora Blackberry, that Earl held its own. Even though they had Art onsite and an Aaron box today, I'm happy I went yesterday.

...but today was probably amazing too.

Are the box sets a daily/weekly thing now?

The boxes appear randomly, but more often than not I have seen people post about them on Thursday.

Wednesday is release day and usually kinda busy, Friday and Saturday bring in the weekend crowd. But Thursday is pretty lonely up there. If your interested in the 150 - 180 dollar boxes, that's when I would roll the dice and go. I personally only make the trek on Saturday's unless its a really rare release I want. I will probably avoid Thursdays because 180 for 3 bottles of beer is a little rich for my pocket, but i'd be unable to control myself and buy it anyways.

Yeah it seems the silent boxes are dropping on quiet days. yesterday they had Aaron box with batches 2, 3, and 4 for $150. also Art b3 was on site. EDIT: Originally saw it as Art b3, but now people are saying b4. I wasn't there so I'm not sure which batch it actually was

Any guesses as to what "portfolio" boxed sets might be coming in future weeks?

I think a Works of Love set (featuring WoL: SARA) and a fruited Flora set (featuring Flora Cherry) are in the works.

It would be cool if they could do a Vintage Year portfolio (showcasing Shaun's favorite beers from a particular year), a boxed set featuring underrated limited releases like Gin Clara, or even a set that highlights the best bottlings of various shelf saisons from recent years.

Chalk another one up for Poetica being the best ever.

When the Notch employees tell you it's best ever, it's probably really good...

I guess Gin Clara isn't as hyped as Art or Ann, but it's one of the best HF beers I've had. Deserves all the hype. Would drive to HF from Maryland for a bottle.

Their Low ABV beers are some of the most mind blowing beers I’ve ever had. To be able to pack that much flavor, depth, and intricacy into such a low alcohol product is a testament to their skills as brewers. I don’t think a lot of people fully understand how hard that is to accomplish sometimes.
