This latest batch, released Saturday 5/25, was the first I believe. Otherwise, it's been 12 oz. cans and bottles (500 ml) before that.

Ugh, is this really happening at Hill Farmstead? From my 4 times there the most hypey thing was people lining up a bit early. Are people really circling around in the tasting room like vultures?

Though I'm admittedly getting a bit tired of beer line-up culture, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with getting to a brewery early in hopes of trying your perceived best options. But the part above in bold shouldn't even be allowed by the brewery and is the kind of thing that only a horrible human being would do anyways.

Is this problem solved by not opening very small amounts of different very hyped beers at different times throughout the day? Or some other alternative?

When something is done predictably, people will plan ways to take advantage of it.

What do most of you seasoned vets do on Wednesday releases. Would be my first, but I think i'm gonna make the trip up tomorrow for Damon. Wondering best time to arrive. I normally leave at 8:00 a.m. on my trips and get there for open. Is their a time when it thins out or is a Damon release gonna be an all day affair?

Debating going to work for a half day, heading up at 11:00 a.m. and getting there around 2:30 p.m.

When are most of you guys planning on stopping in?

Honestly, I think the brewery just shouldn't let people hang out at the front of the line. You get line and get what you get when it's your turn. Tough shit if you missed some rarez.

I've never witnessed this. I am there at least 3 times a month but usually on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon.

I get there between 330-4pm. Last Damon release I was in and out of the retail line in less than 10 minutes. Thursday at that time is even better unless it is a brew that may run out by that time (e.g Samuel).

That business with people camping out at the front of the line waiting for new bottles to come out was specifically an issue over Anniversary weekend. I don't think it's an ongoing problem at HF.

Last Damon release? On Wednesday 10/24? I got there around 3 and was in line until around 5:30. There were still a lot of people behind me when I left. The line was long, winding around outside all day. They stayed open quite late to let everyone who was in line at 5 get beers. Everyone waited a long time though.

Hey guys shamed to say but I'm a HF Virgin. Was thinking of going on Saturday. What's the Saturday scene usually like, is it a mad house? I'm not into crazy bottle releases just want to drink some beer and take home some cans of their staples. Thanks in advance

Oh dang. I must have gone on Thursday. The only long lines I have waited in were for Samuel and Clover recently.

Smart, Thursday would’ve been the way to go for that for sure. Other than a previous Damon release (2013), this was my longest ever wait at HF.

Saturdays are usually pretty busy this time of the year, if Damon sells out it may not be too crazy though. Still a fun time usually especially if the weather is nice and people can spread out.

I would expect it to be busy, but not insane. Also remember you can avoid the can line entirely if you bring growlers (check their policies and beer availability).

Thanks guys. The consensus seems to be go up Thursday.

Last release they dropped Damon from 3 - 2 after Wednesday so that would be my biggest concern about Thursday (Damon going from 2 to 1). That and the damage you savages will do to the Riwaka Pale, and 3 Magic Letters. Hoping to land a growler of each.

NICE, Double Nelson added, and Damon getting to the limited release treatment.

First time I have seen limits on 6 packs as well (4PP on Double Nelson) I know the limit question comes up often on here. Looks like that will be up to date on the website now.

Have past Damon releases been $30 a bottle?

    I think that Damon 2013 was $15, 2016 was $25, 2018 was $28, and 2019 will be $30.
