Ok so I had a handful of requests PM'd to me so I'll have to close down my offer to try and take care of the people who already hit me up. Sorry to the rest of you.

A reminder of how fragile the social order really is. It could all break down in a heartbeat, people.

Its sparse because the peeper tourists are out in force. The past few months have had lots of carry over from one week to the next.

The selection may be thin but I was more than happy to stop in yesterday and load up on cans of Double Galaxy and have a pour of Edward. As always, the staff was great and fun to talk to, even though they did have a couple "Go Astros" comments in response to my Yankee hat! Followed up with watching the Yankee game at the Blackback in Waterbury, which made for the perfect ending to a great day.

Was busy as expected. Got 1 of each bottle (2 of the porter), double galaxy, and pours of Edward and the smoked brown ale (a style I don’t usually go for) which was pretty good.

Can someone explain the Leaves of Grass series? I thought it was just farmhouse ales but today they announced a dubble version.

Some would argue that a barrel aged mixed ferm dubbel is farmhouse AF

Isn't it just their experimental series? Like Tree House Curiosity or Trillium Permutation.

I think they've done a Dubbel once before and also a brown ale or something.

Headed up to HF for the first time Saturday. Any advice on how the lines work? It looked pretty straight forward on the website. Seemed like a strictly retail (cans, growlers and bottles to go). And a taproom just to drink. Only thing that confused me was the growlers in both places. Are the growlers in the taproom line to drink there or also to take home?

Thanks any advice for a newbie would be great.

Growlers are filled in the taproom only. They have a deli style ticket system right when you walk through the doors. Take a ticket and bring up your growlers when your number is called. You cannot drink your growlers onsite. To go only.

Bottles and cans (and merch) to go are in the retail area.

    Good luck and Enjoy!

Thanks for clarifying, that's really confusing because on the site they list growlers to go on both pages. But that does make a lot more since. Probably go through retail first get my cans and bottles then head to the taproom.

If you get there and it's super busy, grab a ticket for growlers and then hit the retail line. Retail tends to move faster than the growler line.

Thanks do you have to go through the growler line to get each drink pour? Same line?

No, there is only a drink line in the tap room, growlers are filled by ticketed number, so they will display it on the wall and call out the number they are on. You grab growler tickets from the number dispenser at the entrance.

My trip there is always the same. I've found the best thing to do is go grab a growler ticket when you arrive in the taproom and head over to retail, grab your cans/bottles/merchandise and drop them in the car. Grab my growler glass out of the car, then go jump in the pour line. If your growler number gets called you get full pour service at the growler counters so just head up to the person who called your number. If not, just continue in the pour line and grab a pour. Repeat until your growler number is called. Fill your glass, and make the trek home.
