Annnnnndddddd... it's sold out. I guess I should not have procrastinated on getting my order in there.

Earlier it showed as sold out. Just went back and looks like it’s available again.

I've noticed this as well. I wonder if they put up a set amount for a time and once it's gone they add more later. I've seen it on a few occasions where an item is grayed out, but then reappears later, next day as available.

EDIT: And I happened to check just now and it's "Out of Stock."

Hopefully they do that with the Geneology growlers, too.

Bottles upon bottles available. Some of the Dharma and E. seem like they've been available for months. Vera Mae still available, Lemon Cello, two versions of Self-Reliance, now Juicy (love that beer), four or five of the mixed ferm beers, an entirely new beer, and I think I'm missing one or two. Wow. Lots to choose from. I could see myself buying a couple of boxes and spending a God-awful amount of money if I was able to visit.

I'm especially intrigued by the Self-Reliance series. (I'm assuming that this project will continue as there have been multiple versions with different varietals.) How do these compare to some of their other barrel-aged hoppy beers? The HF website says that SR is aged in oak, but doesn't expand on it too much beyond that. I know that Sue, Juicy, and others age in wine barrels, and those are some the best beers I've ever had. How does SR compare?

I really enjoy the Self-Reliance series as well as the other beers you mention. I think the major difference is Self-Reliance is aged in puncheons vs. wine barrels for something like Sue or Juicy. The goal I think is to showcase hop different hop profiles interact with the base beer, and they do a great job of that. The SR series may also age for a shorter period, but I'm not certain.

In terms of a flavor profile, I think the SR series might be a bit more hop-forward whereas I get more barrel and a fuller feel in a Sue, especially with some time in the bottle. That said, the Self-Reliance beers I've had have all been great and I dig the $15 price point.

Yes the price is very reasonable. The 500 ml SR Czech Saaz is only $9.

    Picking nits, but it’s a 375 ml.

All other Self-Reliance bottles have been 750 ml.

Can anyone who's been since the lockdown tell me if the system allows you to add to your order after you place it? I mean for example if more Abner becomes available or I decide I want more bottles. Or can you just make a second order?

I just made a second order and let them know when I picked up. Just put them under the same name. Pretty simple.

Had this tonight. Superb and worth every bit. The puncheon brings out a subtle fruity snap. Brisk but short of tart.

I just finished my last bottle from them, so heading up Thurs. This virus decimated my American side of my cellar. I had this on release and found it quite tart, with 2 years it was effing amazing.

I had a bottle of that with my Thanksgiving Dinner. It was the perfect counterpoint to the meal.

First time I’ve noticed “SOLD OUT” over the grayed out label image of a beer, Abner, on the Toast retail page. While Marie is out of stock and grayed out, but no “sold out” stamp. I’d be curious if it is available tomorrow with the idea that they do set aside a certain amount each day or it is gone, been around just over two weeks now, and the stamp hasn’t been applied yet/removed beer from page.

Don't even see Marie anymore so maybe gone. Vera Mae says out of stock now too, that was quick! I doubt they're holding since you can order for different pickup days throughout the week. SR:Riwaka is gone from the list now too...

Right. Noticed these as well, but didn’t want to bombard the thread with all the updates like the nerd I am normally would.

Definitely quick on Vera Mae. Less than a week with the rolling sales model. I also think not having to wait to buy with the online model has quickened sell outs on certain things.

Lastly, noted new bottle date batches for Anna, Arthur, and Florence.

Interestingly, at least Florence is an older vintage. The batch they had for the last few months was a 2020 date. The one they have now is 2019.

Yeah, found that an interesting back date to what had been there awhile.

I arrived yesterday just before 5 for a scheduled pick up. It was by far the most cars that I have seen since they started curbside (I have been 6-7 times). I think I was 7 cars deep and I arrived at my exact pick up time. When I left there were about 8 cars still in line.

On each of my other visits I saw 0-3 cars during the entire process.
