Were posts deleted or something? These recent ones coming from the clouds and having nothing to do with anything.

Anyway........... anyone try the Anna Montmorency or the new LoG yet? I know it's early, but I'm very excited to have procured these two, the LoG in particular is just begging to be opened soon (you know, apples and all).

IDK but the fact that Belgian breweries have been making 2.5% lambic fruited just as heavily as 450N, albeit filtered, without putting the ABV on labels, for centuries, and people who are completely, amazingly, outrageously, incredibly obliviously unaware of this try to act a whole new level of holier than thou learned on the subject of "proper beer" as if it can be tainted and made uncouth by all the frooting and joosing going on right now is about as hilarious as our wrinkled-orange-in-chief saying this is the best economy in history.

    Annnnnnnnd I'm spent.

Did those lambic brewers also call their beers 8% and then tell customers they didn’t know how to calculate ABV when called out regarding the discrepancy?

    *deep exhale*

The Hill thread doesn’t deserve this. Someone please tell me if the apples in LoG are more roasty or sharp.

Amongst my drama-filled gibberish is occasionally a kernel of truth, thank you for highlighting it.

I don't know, but the fact that you decided to drag this out again is mind-blowingly astonishing.

I did not live in Belgium in the 1800s, or earlier, whenever this trend ACTUALLY picked up. Did you?

The absolute fact of the matter is, the beer's ABV is unlabeled, and has been for I don't know how many decades or centuries. No one has a problem with that. No one.

But, tell a bunch of beer geeks in America that they should be up in arms about something, and what do you know, whoa nelly, there they go!

Meanwhile, you wonder why all the AAL consumers avoid craft beer? This kind of pretentious, pansy ass bullshit is why.

    This is why.

To be fair the 450 north drama is/was a complete joke. (So are that style of beer but I digress.) There is almost no price differentiation on abv these days with the exception of barrel aged stuff. Oh no, the beer was slightly less bad for you than the label said it would be.

This is from my trip up there last weekend, still a decent amount of color but definitely on the way out.

Also Art Plum is one of the most ridiculous beers I've ever had. The nose and wine character is out of this world.

Can beer geeks be pick-and-choose hypocrites? Yes. Regularly? Yes.

That said - despite not being born in Belgium in the 1800's I think it's safe to say comparing Belgian lambics to 450N fruit smoothie beer is an epic, very Midwestern-esque stretch.

Praise ye Lord Shaun and deliver us from this squabbling. In the name of Arthur, Everett, and the holy Ann, amen.

Just cracked a LoG. Wish the carb was a little more lively but it’s incredible. The minerality is great, with a soft acidity and light funk. Reminds me of a young lambic blended with a wild fermented cider. Very well done overall.

I mean...cough cough...this shit is lit. Secondary is going to go crazy.

Haha, speaking of, I saw on untappd there were like 5 brand new users who had all checked in a couple of the recent HF releases (CD30, BA everett, etc) with 5 star ratings and nothing else. They all had similar usernames too. Gotta get that hype going.

But to add to the conversation. I love Susan.

Thanks for your thoughts! Opening a Wheat Blanc tonight while the weather is relatively warm here, but can't wait to crack that LoG soon. The series is definitely one of the more underappreciated Hill releases, in my opinion.
