Either they have pulled the website down for some reason or someone is f&cking with their site. It’s been down a few times when I’ve looked.

For some reason, their main website doesn’t seem to work while on cell signal. It will work on wifi. This started last Friday. Toast site seems to work for everyone.

Port Damon…—Out of Stock—lasted about two hours.

Interesting no social posts on either of these last two releases and the additional offerings.

Shop seems to be alright, but acknowledge the disparity across the board: wifi, ethernet

Regardless, Port Damon has been a desired revisit, considering it being clear cut & evocative to Port characterization than most…a deterrent without perspective

I'm definitely disappointed as hell that my favorite brewery on the planet has this cloud over their heads.

Shaun definitely messed up. These accusations are horrible and paint Shaun as a total sexual predator. I'm pissed.

I don't want to "cancel" HF, because there are lots of other people who work there who shouldn't be punished because the owner fucked up. But it's going to be hard to support them going forward. I understand Shaun doesn't have much of an influence on the brewing process anymore, but he's still the owner. He is Hill Farmstead.

It's heartbreaking, but I can't defend his actions no matter how much I love what he has created.

I'd like to see some action from the employees. Come out with any info they have, good or bad. Maybe they would be afraid to speak out. That's understandable. But if they have known about or seen this behavior from Shaun then I'd hope at least someone will say something. Silence doesn't equate to innocence.

Like I said, I'm not doing the cancel shit, but HF is a 2 hour drive from me and right now it's looking a lot less like a worthy drive.

Sorry everyone. Just had to get that off my chest.

    All shit bag stuff aside.

Why do they put out such small amounts of beer each week? The other day I checked and it was 2 cans. I don’t give a fuck how great your great uncle perv balls well water it. My friends brewery that’s half the size puts out twice the great beer. Can someone explain this? And don’t give me the “it’s all in barres” bs.

The first time I went there back when it was just the little barn area and a few taps I get it. But you’ve had like fucking 10 years. Maybe part of the reason Gerhart left. Though I do think his new gig sounds cool.

    They explained it in April:

…we are working to establish a transparent and aligned relationship with growers and maltsters, this fundamental backbone of our beer may oscillate between conventional and organic.

During our sabbatical, our leadership conceived a mission and strategy in alignment with a new vision for Hill Farmstead. This will carry us along into the next decade and likely beyond. While we as a team are implementing the embodiment of these values and this vision, we are quickly discovering the challenge in pairing with vendors, farmers, and growers who align with these goals. There are seemingly innumerable variables to consider for each element—soil health, farming practices, company responsibility, transport and packaging, and more. We continue to evaluate ingredient options and share our pursuance of not only minimizing our impact but positively contributing locally and globally.

Gerhart was a COO & left for a new opportunity…Witter also left, who was not a COO but a tangible (respected) brewer to Shaun - “I told my brother Darren that if I died or something he should reach out to Ryan and have Ryan take over the brewery”

Even prior to that nonsense post they still never had a lot to go. When we were up over the summer it still wasn’t a ton. It’s always made me wonder. And without people crowding you for a year and a half you should be cranking like other breweries. I’m sure the demand is there for sure

I wonder if there is a brewery that is as well known as HF which a lower production volume/capacity. I was surprised how small the operation was the first time I visited.

Not every brewery (or business for that matter) has the same goals of constant growth and increasing production. The fact that they aren’t pumping out 50 iterations of DDH Double Anna With Lactose like they’re Other Half or something is intentional.

Seems like you heeded you own words. Really not sure why you're so upset, and this statement is uncalled for.

What's nonsense about wanting the people whom you get your ingredients from to not be held to high standards? Having standards like that are what elevates those around you, and pushes out anyone who isn't willing to look at better practices within their own business/supply chain.

I’ve enjoyed the few Casita brews I’ve tried - solid IPAs, recall at least one pilsner, and a really good porter. And the grassroots stuff that came out last summer was great

On a related note (don’t think this was mentioned before), Casita happened to be releasing a beer with Shaun’s name on it (“thinking of you: Shaun hill”, or something similar) right around when the first HF response post went up. The Casita IG post had some background on the relationship between Ryan/his wife (blanking on her name…) and Shaun, their experiences with him (positive), etc. Post came down soon after, not sure the beer was released. Just thought interesting color, that’s all
