Do you have 4WD? And yes that's a serious question. It's mud season so you need to watch their Instagram for routes to avoid.

The list of what's available changes every day. There's draft, whole bottles, and limited bottle pours. The draft options tend to stick around the longest but also aren't often available elsewhere aside from a few hoppy beers and Shirley Mae at places like Three Penny, which is one of my favorite stops. Also I'd really recommend Lawson's. It's a big name but you don't see it thrown around much anymore, they've got a really nice place with still great brew.

Anyway, for Hill, it really depends on what styles you like and how much you can safely drink in a limited time. There aren't flights so you won't be sampling everything available, so it might be worth walking in, telling them your reservation, grabbing a picture of the menus, then stepping aside. Whales like Art and DB Aaron have made recent appearances, and can be quite pricey for a small pour, but may also go fast. You might find more value in slowly nursing a full bottle of a more reasonable saison over the course of an hour, especially if you're seated outside on a pleasant day.

Awesome, thanks for this! I hadn't thought about Lawson's but will put that on my list. Three Penny looks great as well. I'll definitely hit that up.

I just left, it’s an awesome place. DB Aaron was bananas you should definitely try that - they said they should have some left for next week. I also really liked Juicy and Flora but I think the bottles change daily so you may have a different lineup. Hope you have a great time!

@Beers-es - There’s a fairly new spot to consider/worth a visit, bearing in mind the proximity to Hill + a quality-adjacent coffee shop to think over: Birdsong/Front Seat…hopefully not killing this nice little gem: hoping to satchel this week…

Lawson's is showcasing several Pink Boots Society beers on tap this Weds. 4-7pm to honor VT women brewers. There's some great stuff to taste.

Another vote in favor of Birdsong. Great people and great beers. Even though I don't go in often, I love having a place like it so close to my house.

As for on site bottles, they generally don't announce in advance, but the menu doesn't change that much from day to day during the week...but, that's part of the fun of going on a Wednesday - it's a surprise what bottles they'll be pouring each week. That said, they posted that they will have DB Aaron for pours again this week. If it's available, it is a pricey pour, but I thought it was amazing. Definitely a top tier barleywine.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their recommendations. Had a great time last week in Vermont. Went to Hill Farmstead twice, met some great people and the beer was, of course, amazing. Ate at Parker Pies with a couple of awesome people I met at the brewery, picked up some great cheeses, hit Three Penny and Blackback Pub and just generally had fun (and didn't get stuck in the mud, though it was dicey at points). Thanks!

Am I crazy or did I read that they were going to open up shipping within VT again?

Just curious if anyone here scored Art. I tried the last two days but the page for that bottle froze immediately once I clicked on it. It would be impossible to click on it any faster than I did, but then I wasn’t sure if I should keep refreshing after the freeze or wait for it to fix itself. Anyone have any tips for the site for next time, or is it just luck?

I think it's simply a matter of 500 people attempting to buy the same 100 items at exactly the same time. I don't believe there's a "trick" to it other than refreshing and hoping.

I know people might get frustrated if they don't get it, but personally I'd take this luck-of-the-draw process over an exceedingly long line any day.

Had it in my cart this morning, went to hit Submit and POOF, gonezo.

In the end, I can't be too upset, I would likely be kicking myself for paying $65 for essentially 12 ounces of beer.

I know this is HF blasphemy but Art, while a phenomenal beer, is comparably low on my list there. Of the wine barrel non one off ones I’ve had, I prefer Samuel, Clover, and Vera Mae by a decent bit. I’d put it even with Flora and Norma and I’ve given up on ever trying Ann at this point.

Making my first trip up this Friday. Totally dropped the ball on knowing there were reservations required so as of now, I'll be picking up beer and looking to check out some local spots. Staying in Elmore and thinking of a day trip to Burlington. Already planning to check out Lawsons.

I saw people recommend Three Penny Taproom and Birdsong for a beer store. Any other spots people can recommend? Open to Cheese Shops, Taprooms, Breweries, Retail shops, or anything else!! Thanks in advance all and super excited!

Willeys hardware typically has some HF and Freak Folk. If you’re on Facebook, join the two HF groups, Hill Farmstead Enthusiasts and Hill Farmstead Group. Occasionally people will offer up their reservations if they can’t make it. If you don’t get lucky, HF will serve you a pour of Edward and/or a lager from the taproom.
Definitely check out Foam if you like IPAs, Burlington Beer Co had a large draft list and decent food.
