camp at Waterbury Reservoir. Really nice location, within an hour of HF, and you can hit all the spots in/near Waterbury.

What’s the difference now between being a walk in and a reservation holder? Considering there is a $5 cost per person to make it? From what I read it sounds like maybe there are certain pours you can’t get if you’re a walk in? Do walk ins not get to be out on the lawn? Just trying to understand the $5 per person that isn’t going towards anything but charity and how it makes sense to make one if walk ins are welcome as stated?

For the record I’m all for charities. But it’s not a charity of my choice or anything local to me which is what I contribute to. It’s also awkward if you’re going with a group to ask if folks are ok shelling out $5 per person to donate. A flat $5 or even $10 makes a little more sense. Maybe I am missing someone so please let me know if so! Do you have to have them on w,t,f? It’s a little confusing reading it.

    Thanks!

No reservation you can order from the draught list (IPAs, Poetica, etc.) Not sure if this is the full draught list but it’s at least most of it. Reservation you get a big menu of bottles to order as well as bottle pours. This has stuff like Art, Civil Disobediences, and other more hyped beers. And then right now there’s no reservations at all on Saturdays, just walk ins for a smaller list.

To add/break out @wehaveamap above contribution, for the onsite mystification:
    • Lawn – Anyone
    • Reservations: Vintage bottles & Draft offerings
    • Walk-ins: Limited Drafts + Growler Fills
    • Saturdays: Reservations not required
    Example:
Hill Farmstead Retail Update for 23 June 2022 | Hill Farmstead Brewery

And for even more information, here’s the full list of draft pours, bottle pours, and full bottles available to reservation holders from yesterday.

Officially known as Little River State Park if you're looking to book a campsite on the reservoir.

Yea I should have mentioned that haha.

Great place though. You can rent small boats and go fishing on the reservoir for a few hours (not sure if they rent rods since we brought our own and it was 6 years ago). Great views. Easy ride into town.

@Jbrews they have a pretty insane list of rotating bottle and pour options if you have a reservation. But if you just want to grab a pour of Edward/Poetica/Mary/Susan etc. no reservation needed. And you’d have a perfectly nice visit doing it that way and can hang wherever you want. But personally if I’m making the trip out there I want access to all the vintage stuff. That’s what the reservation is for.

For a weekday reservation what are the chances of being able to score a table to sit down at? I see the reservations are for “standing room only”. Im making the pilgrimage with my 2 kids so it would be nice to grab a seat for a little bit and give them some snacks to keep ‘em occupied.

Yeah, that’s a little misleading on their end. There are tons of places to sit, especially since they added a bunch of picnic tables between the retail shop and the tap room. The tables with a view fill up quick, but you shouldn’t have trouble finding a seat.

Yeah, there's tons of seating...they have a big event tent up for the summer with a bunch of picnic tables under it, plus more tables and chairs on the lawn and deck. There still are some tables/chairs inside too.

I would like something closer so I can drink and then take Uber back or whatever.

I really don’t know as I don’t live up there, but to me it seems highly unlikely if not impossible to get an Uber in Greensboro. I certainly wouldn’t expect it, and I’ve never heard of anyone doing it in that area. Maybe someone else can offer more information.

There's at least one airbnb in walking distance (or at least was pre covid). About 2 miles. That is probably the only actual option unfortunately!

Also could be a tough walk on those dirt roads, especially if you are carrying cans and bottles.
