Has anyone used a HF gift card lately? I just have a code and you pay at pickup now - so do I just tell them the code at check out?

I grabbed a bottle. My number was 135. My buddy, at 238, was 4th in line when it sold out.

i got 540 ahead of me and eventual OOS. if you were “1 min late to this sale” then i genuinely have no idea how you could feel bad at all about missing out. logged into the sale at 1:45

Does anyone know how this even works? I was brought to a screen that asked if I was 21. I said yes and then it took me to a screen that said the voucher was sold out.

That screen would’ve allowed you to add a voucher to your cart if you were in the first 150-200 people in the queue.

Ahhh, I gotcha. This was so confusing to me. I was under the assumption that say, 3 random people out of say 100 were automatically given the opportunity to buy the voucher and everyone else “lost”. But the process looked like that whomever checked out the fastest got the voucher. You’re saying that the number you logged in and were placed in your queue determined bottle winners?

Anyone have an idea with how many bottles they had for this lottery?

Losing out was expected, but the added salt in the wound of dragging out the queue and giving you false hope was delightful.

Your placement in the queue was random, not tied to when you joined, and every minute the system moved a group of people, sequentially, into the purchase/checkout screen. Then the system saves your place for 5 minutes while you make the purchase. It ran out somewhere between 150-200 so that’s how many were sold (or fewer and maybe some people who got it, didn’t complete the purchase for whatever reason).

And I used to think that waiting in line to buy beer was a 'hard' effort.

After reading a number of the frustrating posters in this thread, maybe long lines were the good ol' days? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ll still take rejection from the comfort of my home over the lines any day.

And at least it’s fairly random instead of designed around accommodating/rewarding the lowest common denominator.

I have no clue who prefers lines to this process, and if anyone claims to I would seriously question their judgement.
