Agreed - I was just commenting on the claim that Hill Farmstead is the only brewery releasing beers with that kind of time commitment in production.

I opted for S&S 6 and double Nelson. Mosaic is just more my vibe than citra/galaxy right now. Have yet to crack the double Nelson but boy am I smitten with this 6. I agree it’s a 5 for me. Just a hell of a beer. I really like where this DIPA sits as far as being a clean hazy. Hits the palate so perfectly. And the aroma is gorgeous.

What’s your favorite hill farmstead single ipa. Mine’s gotta be Harlan. That combo of Columbus and simcoe with a hint of Nelson is just magical. Susan probably my number 2. It’s like an amped up Edward. I like the classic construction with some malt to speak of and the hint of riwaka blended with older US hops.

For me, it’s Susan. But I love Dharma Bum, Harlan, and all of the single hop IPAs I’ve had. Haven’t had Foster yet, but I’m sure I’ll get the chance at some point. The hoppy beers I got at the source about a month ago were so damn good, some of the best hoppy beer I’ve ever had. The single hop Amarillo and Citra. Jesus. Incredibly nice. The drinkability and balance is astounding.

Agree. I got the Amarillo too. I got one of the last few four packs. Really dig it. I missed out on Susan this time but I got so many other great ones. Dharma bum, Foster, three magic letters, and of first and last things are all awesome. Excursions hbc/phantasm is great too. Just everything. Love how much variety they have in the single ipa range. I have a few more cans of Amarillo and dharma bum I might do a cuvée to make a simcoe/amarillo ipa.

Reporting back. Shared cans of Amarillo ipa and dharma bun with my wife the other day. She strongly preferred dharma bum. I agree that dharma bum is better, but it’s a smaller margin for me. Ended up doing a cuvée with about 3 ounces of each I purposely left in the cans. It was close to a 50/50 blend. Dharma overwhelmed the blend. Not a surprise as it packed more of a punch in the flavor and aroma department. I think 70/30 Amarillo/simcoe would be the way to go if i were to give it another go at a more optimal blend. Was fun anyway. Cheers

I did a search and either didn’t do it right, or didn’t find anything recent.

Are there places to get HF on draft in or near Boston?

there's an increasing number of places in and around Boston that have one or two taps but your best location remains Armsby Abbey in Worcester, currently pouring 6 different HF beers. I don't live near Boston so I'll defer to others for recent locations or you could look for check-ins on untappd

Mystic Station in Malden frequently has a few Hill taps. Their website says they have three Hill IPAs on right now. The food is great there as well. They are within walking distance of Malden Center station on the Orange Line.

Mystic Station is closed for a little bit due to some kitchen renovations, should be opening back up in early October

The tap list at that place was updated Aug 7th (or 11th). Def want to keep an eye out for when a taplist was updated last. Armsby's is usually always up to date (+/- 24hours)

Very welcome. Found some HF a few months ago at a NightShift taproom, then started to look at where else it was, then found the beerfinder. Turns out HF is all over the place right now in the area.

Good find but even this misses some spots. I’ve seen HF on at The Merchant and The Haven this week. In my experience Mystic Station, Publick House and Tip Tap Room are the best in Boston for HF. Best bet is to check untapped for different spots the day of.

Magoun's, Five Horse (Davis), and Mystic Station seem to have multiple taps at a time more frequently than elsewhere fwiw.
