Given that the forum just came back and was down while the beer was released, there probably haven't been many (if any) trades for it yet. HF beers generally go for exactly what you'd expect - something equivalently limited and tasty. Another great barrel aged stout with a sub-1000 bottle count would get Damon. Perhaps something like Black Note. Maybe less if the owner really wants it, but Damon was pretty limited from the get go, so I wouldn't expect a tremendous bargain from anyone.
According to HF's website: I don't know if there was a single bottle limit over the weekend, but if there was, this one is going to be particularly difficult to procure
The bottle limit for Damon ($17 ea) was three per humanoid.. Mimosa was two bottles per person @ $20 ea...
I traded a Damon and Mimosa for a King Henry and 50/50 Four Roses with a regular trading partner. Hope that helps.
I was pretty fortunate. I had a gentleman trade me a bottle of Damon for a bottle of Jackie O's Cherry Wood Ya Honey. We were both happy. Wish the bottled it as a 22 oz or 750mL bottle, however. I shared that 16.9 ounce bottle a lot of ways an only got to enjoy a little bit of its excellence. The next bottle I get, if there's ever to be such a thing, I'm drinking it all myself.
I guess this is good news. I didn't get anywhere with the first go round so unless the yield increases I'll likely be in the same boat again next year. I've got a ways to go before my son Damon is of age so hopefully I'll land one sometime. Would be cool to have a big vertical of a beer with his name to celebrate his 21st.
Yeah...I don't imagine it's going to be any easier to get a hold of this time around, even if they doubled the bottle count.
I acquired 2. One was a Damon and Mimosa for Black Note and Hopslam and the 2nd was part of a trade for an '08-11 DL vertical.
I thought about sending my only bottle of rare off for one, but couldn't pull the trigger. If I only had a second bottle of rare...
Ha! Imprecise quoting. I meant as the most common thought to be "If only I had a second bottle of Rare..."
