I didn't have tickets to FoFA but went up that weekend last year. We went to Hill on Friday and it was an absolute jungle. There were so many people there. Both lines were long. The staff was cranking, but it was a lot of volume to handle relative to what they're used to. On the flip side, I did have a few friends there who shared bottles, so it was still good. But if you're going up to VT, I'd say that going on Friday is not the best day to go. Thursday, I'd imagine, is the better day to go if you can swing it.

We did go to Foam on that Saturday and it was nice and chill. We stayed in Waterbury that Friday night and the bars were fine (not packed).

Yeah, purposefully avoiding Friday, was more of a Thursday afternoon kinda thing.

I unfortunately won't be able to get up there any day before FoFA. The site says the bottle shop will be open before hand though. Hopefully I can grab some things then before the fest starts.

I was there on friday last year (I had an event in Vermont and think the wine barrel vera mae was available that week - sidetone why does no one ever talk about this beer?) and it was slightly busier but not bad. Ton of FOMO though as they're setting up for the next day.

Speaking of Vera Mae, doesn't this always come out the week of FOFA or did I just make that up in my head?

I think my plan it to avoid HF on Friday (hit up Alchemist and Burlington instead) and then grab to-go beer before FOFA on Saturday...although that is subject to change if anything especially exciting pops up.

There's always time to grab bottles beforehand as they open at 10 AM, just know they do not do growler fills that day.

I'm also hoping it won't be too bad. I'm planning on heading up early afternoon. Let me know if you plan on going want want to split a bottle.

I am not, but yes that is indeed the case, they are super nice and can offer a ride or two. I was on the waitlist to stay there but have other plans. Id stay there if I could.

Is there any way I can get along on the road up to Greensboro from Burlington the morning of? I kinda got the tickets last minute, and I don't have any of the details ironed out. Spending 400 plus dollars just on lodging, in addition to a rental car and all that is less than ideal, so I'd like to stay the night at a cheap place in Burlington, and get a ride up in the morning. I'm happy to give gas money plus a little something extra, and I will probably have another person with me though I might end up just selling the second ticket at cost.

There's still 6 rooms left at my B&B (Phineas Swann) for those OK with being 50 minutes away.

I've been up to HF a few times and based on the surrounding area.. I assume cabs are nonexistent.

Really looking forward to the event and hanging at the taproom on Friday afternoon.

I'm glad I read this - I'm doing the same but was planning to breeze in / out just before noon on Friday - based on this I'm thinking it might make sense to get there maybe an hour early to beat the rush...

I won't be in Waterbury till later this Friday evening but if anyone is interested in a (not too crazy) bottle share there we should try to set one up if people are interested.

I know it's unlikely to help anyone but I'll throw it out there just in case. I'll be staying at an airbnb a mile from Parker pie and only have 3 in my group. If anyone staying in that area needs a ride to the rest I'm more than willing to help.

I'm interested, staying walking distance outside of Waterbury at an Airbnb... So can't host but down to share.

The last couple times I've gone up during the week, I've arrived right around listed open, and they've already been open for a bit. I'm sure it'll be a bit busier this upcoming Friday, but arriving just before noon should be fine for bottles - growlers might be a short wait.
