I'm planning a day trip to HF this Friday from RI. According to their site they fill up non-HF growlers and show prices for 750mL and 2L growler fills. I have a 1L growler (brown glass from Cellarmaker in SF) and was hoping to fill it up, does anyone know if they are okay with this?

Also, any idea how busy I should expect it to be at noon on a Friday?

The only growler restrictions I've seen from them are on "clear" glass. Not sure what they would go with for price on a 1L, though. They do fill non-HF growler, though, definitely.

    Enjoy!

As an aside, are you in the Providence-at-large area?

i brought a 1L Stone one in and got charged 2 bucks extra. so you should be fine! and anyway at noon is probably fairly busy. get there around 11:30 and you should be out within and hour and a half. maybe earlier

They posted a long list of prohibited things, and this wasn't on it, so you should be good.

I showed up just after noon about a month ago and waited ~30 mins. No problem.

Roguer: Yep, I am in the college hill area of Providence.

Mikeypnh: Awesome, thanks for the info!

beerinmaine: Yeah, I noticed the long list of things didn't mention size but didn't want to assume haha

Yeah, I see they open at noon, I'll shoot to get there 15–20min early just in case. I was hoping noon on a weekday would be less crazy but I guess some people have spring break around now.

I can confirm they are more than happy to fill 1 liter growlers. You should be just fine.

No German swing tops. They must update their filling system.
