    No.

It's perfectly ok if you feel that way, but don't try to extrapolate it to the rest of the beer world.

HF is the best brewery in the country, and probably the world. I'm not even sure that's debatable anymore.

There are plenty of beers out there that are on par with the stuff from HF, but there is no one single brewery out there that can consistently keep up with HF across such a massive variety of styles.

?? I agreed with the review and said that it was soapy to me too. That was what I thought as I drank it and went online and saw another review saying the same thing. That was all. What doesn't make sense? I could absolutely care less what your take on it is...love it and enjoy it. I'm not calling for a coup on these guys...I just don't get the hysteria. BoT is NOT a 4.48 american porter. At all. Nor are their IPAs in the top tier of the Alpine's and Russian River's and Surly's and Lawson's and Kern's of the world....at all, and outside of Abner and S&S, I've had their "best"...their IPAs for the masses...nothing revolutionary, nor deserving of 4.5+ ratings, again IMO!

Person is the singular (meaning one) form of the word people. "People" were not like, "this is soapy, but good," a person was "like" that, and you happened to agree with them. There is a distinct difference.

Their IPAs and Pales are world class and up there with Three Floyds, Alpine, and Russian River. I haven't had any of the more rare releases, haven't tried really, but I found Birth of Tragedy to be terribly overrated and an Eclipse-lite.

I have enjoyed 4 HF beers so far, and each one just leaps out in quality.

Exactly! Yet the ratings put them at that level. I agree with you. Probably not "MOST OVERRATED" a bit strong, but def not deserving of the hype. My favorite trader sent me a surprise Double Nelson and I almost died...drank it next to a Double Galaxy...yawned. World class has yet to even enter my head as I drink HF...so I just don't get it....

It's funny, nobody's made a compelling case yet in my post... Where are the Ann fanboys? The people that pound the table that Abner and Ephraim beat Younger and Elder? They're just not close... Sorry, I know it sucks to come to terms with. But who gives a shit about a wine barrel aged saison? Seriously. And low hops, IPAs??

Trolling. Gotta be. Having been to HF several times and tried most of their line, their beers are all around wonderful. There may be some inflation because of the mysterious location on a remote farm in the middle of nowhere- it is like a small adventure to get there. But if the product stunk, or was mediocre, nobody would make the trip. These guys bring the heat.

I don't think that they are overrated as a brewery since most of their beers range from above average/good to outstanding/world class. In my opinion, some of their beers such as Ephraim, Art, Arthur, Edward, Biere de Mars, etc. are a bit overrated/overhyped but they also make many amazing beers that deserve the praise like Abner, Anna, Birth of Tragedy, Citra, Daybreak, Double Citra, Double Galaxy, Earl and Flora(to name a few).

Which ones? And name the other top rated beers of the style you've had next to them? Otherwise, who cares?

I dumped out BoT tonight...it sucked. Was absolutely a flat, shit beer. Even flat HotD kills it. I just.don't.get.it!! Double Galaxy is solid, though...agree!

Compelling case for what? Why their opinion means more than yours?

Sorry, but you seem to be the only one taking that route here. The Ann "fan boys" are sitting back and enjoying the fact that they love Ann, and sure as hell don't need your permission or agreement to do so.

Now please, stop pounding the table

NEWS FLASH!!! You got a skunky arse bottle of shart and have no idea what fresh Susan is like. I buy tons of HF and have traded out a few cases of toppers for many Abraisive and its not nearly as flavorful as Susan in addition to being a DIPA not an IPA. The HF DIPA/Doub pale ales are amazing! Society and Solitude #'s 4 & 5, Doub Gal, Abner, Ephriam, Doub Citra, Riwaka all blast Abraisives turd cutter to shreds. If you can get any good IPA/DIPA ill fire out a couple fresh 750ml and its no joke. Susan just went off rotation this week, but I got it 2 weeks ago and it was as good as ever.

You are out of your mind. Double galaxy is probably the best IPA/DIPA I have ever had hands down. Susan was amazing as well. I went to the 2nd anniversary festival in VT and literally ever beer I had there was in the top 5 of that style that I had ever had, if not the absolute best. I don't know how the HF samples you have gotten have been handled, but maybe that has something to do with it. I am open minded about all breweries, and am not a HF fanboy. I just have no idea what you are talking about, all I can say is more for us.

That's surprising. I've had BoT twice and neither time was there a problem with carbonation. I'm really sensitive to flat syrupy beers too and tend to trash them in my reviews. I have one more in the cellar so hopefully here isn't an issue. Has anyone else in this thread had a flat bottle?
