Hey all, Was hoping someone might be able to offer some guidance. I'm going to be traveling through VT next Monday and staying in Burlington Monday night and Tuesday night. Due to plans in southern VT/NH on Wednesday, going up to the HF brewery isn't an option for me. Are there any places in or near Burlington that fill growlers with HF beer or sell HF bottles? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
The only place to get HF growler fills is at the brewery. On rare, infrequent occasions (although becoming somewhat more common) bottles have been available outside of the brewery but it's not regular. There are a few places where you can find it on tap in Burlington. Also, not to be that guy but there's a HF thread just slightly below this and their website has all the info you'd need. OK I guess I am being that guy.
I was just in Burlington last weekend. I scored some Everett at Healthy Living but it was gone the same day. Just to give you an idea of how infrequent it leaves the brewery, the limit was 1 bottle per person, and the manager at the shop said that it was a rare occurrence. With that said, I would be very surprised if you found any. You can find some at local restaurants though. I had some HF Galaxy at Manhattan Pizza and The Farmhouse Grill should have some on tap as well. If I were you I would still check out Healthy Living for some bottles of other good stuff (I picked up some speedway stout). Check out the beverage warehouse in Winooski as well for some good brews (no HF though).
Last Friday's Everett bottles were the first hill bottles I've seen in a couple years. None of the stores I spoke to knew if it will be a regular. most of the burlington area gets grassroots on Fridays and any hillfarm stuff is sure to sell out within hours
Taking 89? Stop off at Hunger Mountain Co-op. They had a bunch of Everett bottles there today. Last time I was up there, three weeks ago, they had a bunch of George bottles. I miss Earl! Guess I missed the boat on those bottles.
