Hill Farmstead in NYC

Mediorcre is right. All brewed at Green Flash. Nelson is probably the closest Alpine your gonna get right now.

 

I will be visiting NYC/Manhattan (staying in the Financial District in 2 1/2 weeks. Coming from the LA/OC area I have not had the opportunity to try any Hill Farmstead beers. Any recommendations on HF beers while I'm in NYC? IPA's/Stouts? And where can I find HF in Lower Manhattan? I've been checking BeerMenus but really have no clue what HF IPA's or stouts to look for. I really like Other Half IPA's and their SuperFun! Was lucky to get 2 cans of SuperFun! on a trade in California a few weeks ago. And hoping to get a 4 pack of Green Diamonds soon.

Typically we only see the HF shelf saisons make it to the city (keg only,no bottles). I'd recommend following Brother Soigne and Dorothy on beermenus as they both have been showing up quite a bit lately. And also "What is Enlightenment" (which is actually an APA) has been making a few appearances of late. Not really familiar with bars in that area that have had HF in the past--perhaps some others could chime in as well.

 

Also, you should follow Anna and Nordic Saison (both saisons) on beermenus--we see from time to time as well.
**Of course not all bars use beermenus, so if you wanted to get really ambitious you could start following places on social media as well.

 

We generally get 2 - 3 HF varieties every month or so, keg only as stated below. Depends on what Shaun has recently brewed. We never get his IPAs but we occasionally get Edward. As for stouts, we get Earl and Everett. Use this link (select New York City) to see what HF is in the city at any time.

I was actually pretty happy with Hoppy Birthday. Then again, it was my first time having it since I've only had Alpine's bottle offerings.

Convivial Suarez was on yesterday at Blind Tiger. Not sure if it's still on.

 

Seems like Edward and Convivial Suarez have been popping up throughout the city the past week. Hope this trend continues!

 

Edward has been kicked for 3 or 4 days now.

 

i called them 2 minutes before i posted and was told it is on still

 

Edward was on at Owl Farm last week and kicked within two days. It was a 13 gallon keg too, which was impressive!
Probably a few more kegs to be tapped around the city, I would imagine.

 

Edward just tapped at Bridge View Tavern up in Westchester.

 

That's odd. I went Sunday night had a few then went back monday and it was gone. Maybe they got 2 kegs?
