Anyone tried this one yet? I'm always up for a nice session beer, but I tend to avoid buying 12-packs (or 6-packs for that matter) if I'm not reasonably sure I'm going to like the beer. No reviews have been posted here or on RB. I'll give them props for the marketing angle.

Absolutely horrible. Had a few sips and the rest went down the drain. I was glad the can was given to me and I didn't have to pay money for it. Another shitty beer from WA. Surprised?

I've had a can in the fridge for a couple days, haven't hit it yet.

Drain Pour. I was totally bummed, as it was about 10 minutes from the Hawks v Niners. Maybe I can use the rest for cooking or something.....but ya, a total sickening metallic-lager-puke thing going on.

OK, I am drinking my can now, and just entered my review. It's got a taste that I get from a lot of Hilliard's brews, sort of an odd, unidentifiable funk, that I've always chalked up to the yeast. Also, I have access to a lot of "aged" cans, and since they're free, and I might possible have had a couple of beers already, I just wrote it off. I didn't think it was a drain pour, but I also probably won't have another.

Are these still available? 40-Whiners want them banned.
    Rare beer alert!!!

Way too malty. Some people say it's just rebranded Nautical Reference, but that was much better.

Damn shame. I love their saison.

Yeah - i like nautical reference quite a bit, definitely different beers. For a 4.5% fall slammer, I don't have any issues with 12th can. All of the commercial attention is pretty sweet for Hilliards, too.

This is pretty much it. Really strange yeast profile and almost no hop presence. Not sure where they get off calling it a pale ale. More like a Belgian/lagery/janky saison/pond water turd to me. Go Hawks!

Probably just Pete Carroll's sweat you are tasting.

Yeah, I don't generally get that "funk" when the cans are fresh(ish), but these cans I've been hitting while drunk have it in spades. I was really surprised to find it in a really fresh can.

It's very grainy and not good.

Sounds like the kind of beer most Seahawk fans drink. Hilliard didn't make it for us craft beer drinkers.

That was kinda the impression I got after having a can during the game on Sunday.

Well as the one who did give you the can and paid money for it. I'm counting the fact that I didn't grab the 12 pack I found at Safeway for $23.50 (sale price mind you) and only wasted $5 on two cans for us to pour out a win.

I passed on it as well for that reason. Didn't want to buy twelve. Based on near-unanimous opinions, I'll pass on this one for sure.
I also like their Saison though.

I have seen singles of this @ QFC for around $1.99/can, if anyone's interested in spite of this thread. I'm not.

I bought four cans yesterday. They had Hawk tailgaters in mind with this one. Very bland and light, almost like a BMC lager.
