I have come to the conclusion that I am a complete sucker for malt. I found my ratings are usually quite a bit higher for most malt bombs than the BA average. I was just shopping at QFC and saw the $1.99 singles Draheim mentioned, and picked one up (having no intention of buying a 12 pack). I had missed this thread earlier or I might have passed. It seemed odd that a beer that was named to be sold in 12 packs was available (in huge stacks) as singles, but it seemed worth a try. I have found Hillard's beers to be satisfactory examples of each style, but somewhat pedestrian. I really liked this one, the biscuity malt was exactly to my taste and I thought it had good flavor and mild hops for a 4.5% ale, most of which are too bland for me. I trust the tastes of everyone on this thread, but if you are a malt fan, I wouldn't write this one off. Apparently everyone else should take heed. It appears that the singles sales at QFC must show that 12 pack sales have paralleled the comments here rather than my taste.
