Got a trip coming up to Hilton Head, SC. Any recommendations to find some craft beer in/around the area?
    Thanks in advance

On the island: Hilton Head Brewing was brutal (though the folks there were really nice) at Thanksgiving; to be fair, they apparently have a new brewer so perhaps things are getting better. The Lodge is right next door to save the day with a nice tap list. Bomboras Grille also had a solid tap list but was, as I recall, a tad pricey (but that's not unexpected given its location).

Bluffton area: River Dog Brewing was really good; beer was tasty and the vibe there was great. Vineyard 55 in downtown Bluffton had good food and a nice tap list (a bit more regional of a list than what Bomboras had).

If you're there for a while and want to do a day trip, Savannah and Charleston -- both of which have more beercentric options -- are fun.

Was there about a month ago and enjoyed a place called Neo just before you get to the island. Seemed to have an emphasis on local beer and food. River Dog was the local beer of choice at the touristy places on the island.

New brewery in Hilton Head called Wooden Skiff. I haven't been there though.

If you're ok for a drive to Savannah, we have some cool stuff on at Moon River, including a 10.3% ABV Imperial IPA and a Saison Brett, which is half golden ale aged in Brett positive barrels for 9 months and half fresh Saison with Sorachi Ace and Nelson Sauvin. Our friends at Southbound Brewing do tastings and tours as well.

If you're looking for a bar on the island, try Steamer's Seafood. It's probably your best selection on the island. They supposedly have over 250 beers now. Not the craziest selection, but better than pretty much everything else on the actual island itself.

Thanks for the recommendations. Had a great time in Hilton Head. The Piggly Wiggly in Coligny actually had Westbrook IPA in 6pk cans, which were excellent. The Lodge was great. They had Stone Enjoy By 7/4 on tap and Mexican Cake. Tried Bomboras, but I agree it was a little pricey. Excellent staff there and they poured me a few samples. Had another Mexican cake, which was awesome.
