Hipster brunch release Vs. Bcbs release.

I prefer acquiring my beer stress free, and knowing my money is staying in the community it is brewed in.

 

Last year I decided not to go to Binny's Lincoln park, because I saw the huge line that was 3 times longer at 6 am, than it was at 7 am in 2013. So I went to a Suburban Binny's that only had about 20 people in line.

I later found out had I actually gone to the Lincoln park Binny's I would have come away with more beer than the other Binny's. Even with the huge line, they had so much beer that if you were there by 7am ish you still would have got 3 variants. At the smaller suburban Binny's I was left with a choice of two variants (one bomber choice, one single bottle of either coffee or bw).

If 3 times as many people come this year as last year though...

 

3x the people is doubtful, but at least the variants will last longer due to the smaller sized bottles. It'll still be a shit show either way, but just show up at 4 am and you'll be just fine at about any location.

 

Are they releasing just the regular or the bourbon barrel version too? Regardless as long as there is some carbonation I will be happy

 

Except for Rare, I have a feeling that one could be difficult.

Sorry for digging up a month old post, especially off topic. Does anyone have any firm info on the Monster 29? I can't find anything, and the Dark Horse website has been down for quite a while for some reason. Don't see anything on the book of faces either. Quite a few releases around Halloween and trying to figure out which direction to go.

 

the last time i picked that up was for their 4 elf party. I got this back in 2012 though.

 

Was just doing the same thing ha-ha. Maybe see you there. I'll be the guy with a wife and 3 young kids, standing there handing them all candy/toys to keep them happy...

 

So it is for sure that day? Any info on pricing, limits, and qty available? If I can swing it it'll be later in the afternoon. Wife wants to do a college tour at Western that morning so trying to spin the right angles on beer pickups lol. Pretty sure Shorts is off the list!

 

No info whatsoever. I also couldn't justify driving 6 hours for 2 bottles of beer...

 

I recall someone posting a photo of the sign and it showed the release date.

They are often slow to post up info, or they post it up with no updates for awhile.

Being Halloween, I don't think I am going to be able to swing any releases that day. Really wanted to go to New Holland.

Just called, guy said "Nothing to my knowledge is being released on Halloween."

 

The sign that was up called for Monster 29 (non BBA), Halloween Beer (TBA - stay tuned for more on this beer), and R&D Stout (stay tuned) for release on October 31st. Considering that Tequila Pineapple Saison was a failed release in June and Quadruple Crooked Tree didn't get released last month, we're not putting Dark Horse on the beer run itinerary.

they are releasing a new beer, i have confirmed from a friend that works there. its not Monster 29 if that helps. but he wasnt sure if they would bring something else out or not. you know how DH does things....

 

If it's some kick ass Stout I'm going...

 

i hope its not monster 29 in any form. i just drank the first run of it and it was amazing!! i have my plans for black halloween and black friday!

 

I was originally going to do Black Friday in Chicago but Grand Haven seems like a far more low key way to spend the day and gives me an excuse to finally eat at an old friends restaurant.
