I'll be flying into Burlington Wednesday, May 20th around 12pm. I'm flying in with a group so I will have limited time to grab lunch, have a couple pints, and pick up my beer for the week. Current plan is to hit the Farmhouse Tap and Grill and then head toward Shelburne. Really hoping to snag a couple decent brews over lunch with a potential stop at Fiddle Head before we board the ferry.

Given I'll be there for a week I'm hoping to stop at a single liquor store (maybe two) to grab a couple of the better VT, and/or East Coast, IPAs for the trip. Something the likes of Heady, SOS, Substance, Second Fiddle, etc. would be nice but open to other suggestions as well. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to stop? Any chance of a good haul at a single location on a random Wednesday?

As an aside, if this stop idea is a bust would anyone be open to acting as a "Proxy"? Would love some Hill Farmstead but know I wont make the brewery while I'm there. Also open to any other shelf releases I'll miss because of timing. I can send a thank you box on the back end for your time and/or trouble if that helps. Thanks in advance BA!

You can get Heady in one of the bars at the airport. Substance is only available in Maine at this time. Fiddlehead in Shelburne is great stop they will have 2 or 3 beers on tap for growler fills but the can releases for 2nd Fiddle have been on Saturdays. Your on the right track to set up an IP trade while your there because being able to round everything up because of the different drop days in the area will be tough. I'll be in Burlington for that weekend also I might be able to bring some New England stuff with me if you want to try to set up something for an IP trade.

Growler fills at Fiddlehead will address some of the immediate need so that helps. Do you know if they have open fills, in that they can fill any growler, or do they have to be from Fiddlehead? Some breweries are specific, some aren't.

Aside from that I'd love to pull in a few four packs of Heady and/or a few of the shelf HF releases available at the time. Given my final desitnation is NY it will need to be on Wednesday to make it work though. If you, or anyone else, is able to make a few of those things happen hit me up on BM so we can work out the details. Happy to make a trade out of it or just pay cash (proxy style) and send you thank you box.

In Vermont they can fill any growler you bring them.

What time will you be leaving burlington on Wed afternoon? I might be able to help you outFarmhouse should have a few hillfFarm on tap. City market is a few blocks walk from farmhouse they have good selection some locals =roaring brook artic ipa foley brother fair maiden native and citratenail, lost nation and lots of other small vt brews on the shelf, pearl street beverage is another block away: I've found some hyped stouts and BA stuff sitting on the shelf. Healthy living near airport is also worth the stop. Hit fiddlehead for sure.

My flight gets in around noon (assuming there are no delays). That should put me in a rental car by 1pm at the latest. I would imagine the group will be good for 2-3 hours of Burlington time at the most. That includes lunch and whatever is on tap as well as whatever stops for beer we need to make along the way (excluding Fiddlehead). I'll look into the one's you listed as they are certainly in the right area for me to make the stop. If you have any access to beers not at those stores and want to set something up let me know. I'm bringing a bunch of guys who love beer but have never had the likes of Heady, SOS, or HF and would love to stash some away for them.

Ok, last ditch effort. I've got a line on everything but some cans of Heady for the trip. Sounds like a few places get Wednesday deliveries but none of them are on my route and my crew refuses to deviate. Anyone pick up an excess yesterday or today that will be in the Burlington area tomorrow? As stated above I can compensate you in a variety of different ways.

Natural Provisions and the Shelburne Meat Market in Williston are about 5-10 minutes away from the airport. Both are on the list for deliveries tomorrow. If your flight leaves ontime, you are likely to arrive a few minutes early. Rarely takes more than a few minutes to get your bags and car in Burlington, even if you're renting from Budget which is offsite. My guess is you'll have some found minutes based on your timeframe and can get out there and back and still keep your schedule. Alternatively you could head to Winooski for your beer for the week (Beverage Warehouse) lunch, Misery Loves Co, and Sammy's Quick Stop which is slated for a Heady delivery tomorrow. Would probably still have time to spend an hour on Church St and hit the Farmhouse.

Natural Provisions has had cases sitting out for sale a few delivery days I've been there in the last few months. They also have a great beer section with a lot of local stuff like 14th star Maple breakfast stout/ Tribute/Valor, beers from Crop brewing and last week they had bottles of Lemon Cello which was a Grassroots collab that's currently the guest bottle at Hill Farmstead. Its super easy to get to from the airport as well. If you strike out there Beer Palate in Williston also gets Heady on Wednesday and it usually lasts a few hours. Its probably a mile from Natural Provisions as well. If you look them up on twitter (@beerpalatestore I think) they always post when they get their heady and when it sells out. Its always 2 4 packs per person and a cool little store to browse around as well.

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone! I convinced the group to make the trip to Natural Provisions and managed to pull into the parking lot right as their Heady shipment was being dropped off. Between that and the great lunch at Farmhouse, shopping at Pearl Street Beverage, and a pit stop at Fiddlehead we had a great time and great beer for the trip. Thanks again for all the great feedback!
